My mom and I visit the Portland area every December for a Mom & Daughter getaway and to do a little Christmas shopping.  We have tried several different hotel chains and in several different areas.   This location was not the most convenient for restaurants and shopping, but the customer service made up for the location.  I usually get an upgrade at Best Western but this was a busy weekend, so no upgrade was available.  The rooms are nicely updated and quite roomy.  The sink outside the bathroom is something I really like in a hotel room when I travel with other people.  It allows one person to be getting ready at the sink even while the other is showering.  The beds were comfortable and allowed for a good night sleep.  The little coffee /microwave / fridge area was nice and allowed us to keep our restaurant leftovers and enjoy them later.   Hot breakfast was included in the morning and he selections were good.  We stayed 2 nights and the choices had some variation day to day which  is nice if you are staying awhile.  The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.  My only negative is that the location is a little far from the malls and major shopping areas, and the entrances to the hotel are a little awkward due to a barrier in the middle of the street preventing cross traffic.  If you want to go a specific direction you may have to go the other direction for awhile before you can turn around.   Overall a good stay and we will likely return next year! Hotel was pretty nice. Very clean, and staff extremely friendly. Room was very large, had the King bed room. Mattress was average firmness for a hotel, and room had standard TV and Internet. Their breakfast was quite good, and presented well. 
However, being that close to the highway and having a room facing the highway I could hear cars all night, and the window coverings didn't block out the headlights all the way, and had moving shadows in the room all night.

Extremely easy to find, quick check in. This Best Western had a wonderfully inviting lobby and was very clean. The room itself was also very clean and set up nicely. I would say the nicest Best Western we have staid at.

They pay attention to the  details and are very flexible with accommodation. 
You are greeted with a cheerful smile and an eagerness to help you. AWESOME!

The shower diverter in our room did not work. It actually fell off when I tried to turn it on. I reported it to the woman at the front desk at 7:45am, who said she would call me right back. After waiting half an hour, we each washed our long hair under the tub faucet - no easy task - because we needed to have breakfast and get to a meeting. When she finally called back - and hour and a half later! - she basically said sorry, the other showers work and yours should too. By this time we had missed breakfast and were running late. Stephanie indicated that she could not address the problem for us because she was busy with check outs and helping other guests. She seemed entirely unconcerned, offered no solution, refused to adjust our bill, and told me the manager would not step out of the office to speak with me. She said he would email me, but I have received nothing but this request for feedback.
I am beyond disappointed - not only due to the lack of a functional shower and the fact that we missed breakfast - but at the terrible, unreasonable way we were treated as paying guests. We absolutely did not receive the stay that was advertised and for which I paid.
