Recently renovated. The room we stayed in was a Suite #236. Very comfortable and quiet. Although the 1970’s Blue spa in the bathroom was a bit out of place with the modern renovations. I was very unhappy with the pool filled with 50+ kids. Multiple “pool parties” according to the front desk. Total mayhem! I asked if they were hotel guests and she replied “probably not”. I think it is totally outrageous to be running a community center/daycare out of the conference center pool. Kids, inattentive parents and Doritos everywhere!!! I understand the economics of the industry in a small town but would suggest that the daycare close at 8 or 9 pm and the pool is left for adult swim and hotel guests until close.

The rooms were recently updated, but to standard quality. At first, everything looks prestine. As you look on, you realize small things that need updating - the spout for the tub was not even close to being flush with the wall, shower head was still old, the walls looked like a rush job in updating. The pool area is great for children, but also was very packed over the weekend. There were 2 parties held there, with the belief that not everyone in attendance actually had a room. This is because the area requires a key to enter, but someone made sure the main pool entrance stayed ajar. The restaurant was superb and very accommodating (especially with a large group). Breakfast was good, french toast was delicious.

The rooms were nice and updated. Pool was pretty good too. We had an issue with our reservation, but the manager took care of us and fixed things for us. The continental breakfast wasn't anything to brag about though, we went to a fast food place our second day.

We were in town for a funeral. The hotel did give us a bereavement rate for our room. Room was clean, bathroom sink took forever to get hot. Continental Breakfast was ok, same thing each morning except they changed the way they cooked up the eggs and sausage, would have been nice to have a little more variety. The ladies working at breakfast were super friendly. Our check-in Lady was also very friendly and very accommodating to get all of our family rooms close together.

Stayed in a double room that was recently remodeled. New bathroom vanity and sink, new wallpaper, new carpets. Not sure if the beds are new but they were comfortable in any case. Pool area sure needs some renovation. One water cannon was broken and one had been completely removed. Kids used to look forward to using these. Hallways have been recarpeted. Unfortunately the hotel entry doors and doors to the pool and between hotel wings are a bit worn out. If you want a hotel with a decent pool for the kids the Ramkota and Holiday Inn Express are your choices in Aberdeen. Holiday Inn is normally outrageously expensive, so Ramkota is a decent option if you can get a good room rate.
