Rooms are inexpensive. Tried calling front desk three times for service and got answering machine. Rooms were clean. Breakfast had outdated pastry, ran out of pancake batter, full trash bins and closed on Sat am at 9. That was odd. Appears as though some renovations are going on which is super necessary. Room doors need painting, vents need thorough cleaning. The separate baby pool and extra space in the pool area was nice for large groups. Probably be our first and last stay.

I stayed here with my track team while attending a meet at SDSU and it was pretty awful. Not everyone's room was ready by the time we checked in. The beds had 1 sheet on them and several of the rooms smelled. Some rooms had this weird extra room that was so empty that there seemed to be no point for it. The breakfast was mediocre and they took too long to restore items. I will give them credit for letting breakfast stay open past the time it was supposed to end by. The free cookies in the lobby were delicious as well. A couple good things can't outweigh the bad here though.

This hotel has been completely updated.  The guest rooms are spacious and have been renovated.  The restaurant has changed to "The Lodge," and the food and service were great!  This is a great value in Brookings!  I highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are ok the bar was helpful and nice but the girl working on 1-12-2018 and at 1 am on Sat the 13th 2018, who I believe is the same girl should be fired. I run a business and if she had the customer service she did, she would be gone.. we came in and had to say I'm here to.check in, and she still played on her phone, as my wife had to get her attention.. then, I sleep with a fan, so I called down there, and asked for a box fan, which even the shittiest hotel I've ever seen In hot springs South Dakota at the motel 8, brought me a fan.. I've stayed in 30 plus hotels in my life and every single one has brought me one.. never been told.. she told me we don't have a single fan in the whole place, as she sounded annoyed to.help.. as I'm writing this I almost want to leave cause customer service is very important to me. My wife is from brooking and we come and stay in hotels often.. and will recommend every single person not to ever come here and will never stay here again.. dissapointed.. hard enough time with a funeral to be treated like garbage..

Hotel is clean,  staff was awesome! I needed extra shampoo,  cream rinse and coffee,  along with a tooth paste,  and the young man got it,  bagged it and was so sweet. (I have very long hair,  so one bottle was not enough,  he joked with me about how it might be a little difficult). The bed was amazingly comfortable. Room was large.  Great stay!
