This hotel is unique with the amount of family- oriented activities provided in the "hang-out" lobby area. I say lobby as the actual lobby by the front-desk is quite small and used only for waiting to check-in or out. Activities range from put-put golf, to table games, pool, basketball, floor games that resemble house shoes, and many others... This is in addition to the somewhat larger than usual hotels pool. They also have a hot tub, exercise room, Sauna, and GIANT event room that I attended for the 2018 Holistic Fair. All of these activities are in the center, giant space of the hotel. The layout is my favorite and the BEST in accommodating families when it comes to reunions, family vacation travels, sports trips, or other trips involving family... BIG PROPS TO THE ARCHITECTS for designing and focusing the layout on family entertainment and safety. The rooms are on the outside of the giant activity center where the parents are easily able to monitor kids as they place outside the windows of their rooms. The rooms, even from upper-level floors, are made so supervision of kids is easy, so parents are able to relax from the comfort of their rooms. The event room was almost sounds proof as i could not hear any activity from outside our event. The hotel was for the most clean (I only lost a star here for cleanliness as there could have been more done about the floor sanitation (mopped) in the bathrooms,) and counters could have been wiped down more often. I understand events and the hustle and bustle of weekends could get over whelming and make this routine a bit harder than usual so I definitely won't make more of a fuss about it. Overall, wonderful staff and time spent at Best Western Wichita North HOTEL & Suites

Well, so many problems. First, if they say they are going to do something, don't count on it. Our TV was broken for 2.5 days. They never fixed it. I finally figured out what was wrong... No thanks to them. Second, there was a bit of a ruckus by a few guests so they would not let anyone have a late check-out even though they agreed to it earlier. What kind of management punishes all guests because of a few? Third, be aware that the hotel is used by local law enforcement for drunk driving education for drunk driving offenders. You know, it's gotta happen some place; however, they were a tad unsavory and there were a ton of kids there because of a sporting event. I did not want my kids around these questionable people. Fourth, the environmental controls for the room were barely functioning. It's winter and I was either burning hot or freezing cold. Fifth, the cleaning staff is slow. So slow that it was almost five everyday before our room was cleaned. There were some people in our group that NEVER got there room cleaned. Sixth, do NOT depend upon their shuttle service. You are not their top priority. They've contracted with a train line to shuttle their employees. Their priority is the train line employees. I had to get a $25 Uber ride in order to get back to the hotel. Stay far away from this place.

We had a large family gathering and the hotel was very accommodating. The center game and gathering space was large enough for our 40+ people with a few other families using the same space. The pool was just the right temperature for the below 0 F weather outside. We will use this hotel again.

First thing I always judge a hotel on is the service I get from the front desk. So often this is not valued by hotel chains. I was knocked out by the friendliness of the woman who helped me at the best Western. Then I got to my room and I continued to be impressed with the quality look and feel of the hotel. Easy on and off the interstate and I would just say you cannot go wrong stayed at this hotel!

This hotel was recommended to me for a birthday party. I ended up getting a birthday package. I was excited about the pool and the arcade. When we got there, nobody knew where we were supposed to set up for our birthday party. We had to get all the equipment ourselves from the front desk for the pool and ping pong tables. We also had to request more plates and cups. Nobody ever came to ask us if we needed anything. You would think it would be part of the customer service. The pool was cold and the hot tub looked gross. The arcade was small and was not closed off to our guest. You would think if we paid for that area it would be. As soon as I set things out the other guest started to play! Our AC did not work in our room. The girls ended up having a good time but I will look for a better option next time.
