"Some people are just fun from the word go. The Veazey family is so entertaining! It seems fitting that their Party Store should be thriving."
Over 100 years serving Oklahomans! Bill Veazey's father, Steve came to Oklahoma in 1900 carrying $10 and big plans. His tenacity worked well for he developed the successfull Veazey Drug Company which at one time had 21 locations through out Oklahoma City. Veazey Drug Company opened in 1906. "Get it at Veazey's" was thier motto, providing old fashion sodas and fried chicken sandwiches with a friendly pharmacist offering everything but the kitchen sink. The Drug Stores are gone now, but the family tradition lives on.
Bill Veazey's Abbey Rents franchise opened April 1, 1964 specializing in the rental of sickroom and party equipment. Bill called his wife to say, "Jane I just bought this buisness. And all you'd have to do is just bring your knitting and answer the telephones." In later years, Bill's wife admits, "It didn't work out that way. I've done everything but drive a truck."
Bill Veazey's Abbey Rents became 2 thriving rental businesses, Bill Veazey's Rehab and Home Health Care and Bill Veazey's Party Store, which are currently owned by Bill's daughters Stephanie and Marijane. Visit us to see a great selection of party rental equipment for your next event.
With one of the largest inventories in Oklahoma, Bill Veazey's Party Store has moved from a 6,000 into a 34,000 square foot facility. As the city and state does well, so does the party buisness. MAPS has been great. Marijane Veazey, at one time, felt that 500-person party was a huge event because few venues had the capacity to put on anything bigger. Today 1,100 people at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is common. The University of Oklahoma pre game events on home game days empty the warehouse at the beginning of September every year.
We will continue to strive to give the best service and rental equipment to our customers for parties of any size from 2 - 6000. We help create memories for your special event.
