At our heart, the Birchwood Cafe is about fostering community, revealing connections and inspiring gratitude.

We pride ourselves on offering something for everyone. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, omnivorous or all about the bacon, we have plenty of lovingly handcrafted dishes for you to enjoy. Our food is local, sustainable, organic food that makes you feel good. We take care to know the land, the animals and the people we work with and source from are treated with respect, and you'll taste that in the food. And because our menu changes with the seasons, there is always something new to try.

A lot of people really like this establishment. The atmosphere is amazing and everyone is incredibly friendly. Great vegetarian AND meat options. It doesn't really suit my palette, but don't let one person's review ruin it for you. Everyone in the area plus their mom loves this place and I can see why. You should try it out if you are considering!

New favorite! Went for lunch and had the breakfast sandwich, cider flight and a cold press with maple. It was delicious and the counter service was great! Every employee was super friendly, and a few went out of their way to assist some elderly patrons during my lunch there. When it's busy in a restaurant, and the employees make time to help in ways they don't "have" to, I love that. Will be coming back!

I love the Birchwood Cafe. Sometimes their food can be a little bland, and I think that their menu needs a revamp. However, if you know what to order, the food is delicious! Also, their matcha latte is to die for. They also source all of their ingredients locally and ethically. They support so many causes throughout the cities! It’s so inspiring, and I feel that many other businesses in the Twin Cities should follow suit!

It's OK. They do have good food but it's one of those trendy places that the college crowd likes. As a result it's considerably over priced and over-hyped in my opinion, and the service can be slow and generic when they are busy - which is often. But it's also true that the food is good, some interesting menu selections are available, the ingredients are high quality, and the staff is friendly when not running ragged. I've eaten there a few times only because it was convenient, given a choice I'd try/give another place a chance rather than go back again. But it's ok if you are in the neighborhood, you could do a lot worse.

The most delicious food on the west bank. A contributor to local urban farming and the best brunch menu in the twin cities! Lots of vegan vegetarian and gluten free options also great local meats for those who eat meat , overall delicious eating any time or day!
