The hotel room was one of the nicest I have stayed in. We stayed in a tower room on the top floor. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The "best buffet in the state", or whatever they call it, is over priced with basic and generic food. We had Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast there. Most of it was bland. None of it was special. The alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced. Overall, it was a good visit.

My family and I stopped at Black Bear on our way home from Duluth where we were celebrating my 21st birthday. We ate lunch at the buffet and enjoyed a wide variety of options including fresh fruit, giant cookies, and great brunch options (personally, I adored the corn beef hash). We decided to hit the slots for a few minutes before leaving and though I left $30 lighter, I enjoyed the Avatar game, so it didn't feel like a total loss. Delicious food, entertaining games. I will be back some day.

My wife and I went to Black Bear for their seafood buffet. It was great as always. They have seemed to fix the outrageous wait times which we've experienced to be greater than 2 hours. We got there early because of this but never had to wait. The only thing we dislike about the experience of Black Bear is the smoking. They could take some pointers from Vegas on mitigating that smell.

I have always enjoyed my times at Black Bear and especially the Buffet. However, the new GM apparently has some great ideas on how to be more profitable. We usually go to the buffet about twice per week because we are convenient and it is one of the benefits of the Players' Club. New changes reduced these benefits by 75%. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. We will not be back but maybe once every 6-8 weeks. Huge mistake by the new management and makes us wonder what other changes are being made. The buffet remains good!

The hotel rooms are very nice. They also have seafood and steak restaurant which has the most amazing Seafood. As for the slot machines we find the payout is much better than the surrounding casinos.
