Story

Black Dahlia Studio is a specialty "lifestyle" hair salon owned by Matthew Collins that is dedicated to consistently providing high customer satisfaction by rendering excellent service, quality products, and furnishing an enjoyable atmosphere at an acceptable price/value relationship. We maintain a friendly, fair, and creative work environment, which respects diversity, ideas, and hard work.

Mission Statement: To supply services and products that enhance our clients' physical appearance and mental relaxation, and to provide a practical educational setting for local stylists to further hone their craft.

Matt has been my hair guy for a couple of years now, since before he opened Black Dahlia Studio. I had a hair person that I saw for over 6 years before she disappeared. I did a lot of research trying to find a new person and Matt was the best of the lot. It turned out he was better than the best, he's flipping gifted! If you are looking for someone who will just agree with everything you say or do whatever you ask, he's not your guy. If you want a hair person who will talk to you about your hair type/health, the shape of your face, ask you questions about your maintenance and care, and help you select a cut/color/etc that will best suit you AND make you happy... well than Matt is your man. I am forever changing my style and trying something new, with Matt's input and education I always leave his studio feeling and looking amazing! And if you don't like the cut or color (or etc) once you get home, give him a call and he will make plans with you to fix it without any attitude or blame on you. You know what a breathe of fresh air that is. The studio is a beautiful and relaxing space with an eclectic group of people who are always so welcoming when you walk in. You don't hear or feel any tension or drama, there is constant laughter and great music. And I might add the prices for his (and the others) services are reasonably priced for the exceptional service you will experience. Thank you Matt for always making me feel and look beautiful!

Matt is the best! I haven't let anyone touch my hair for the last 4 years because of him. He has never failed to make me feel like a beautiful lady and every time, after cut/color, I get a blow out and I receive compliments left and right. Strangers have walked up to me in the bar to tell me I have "the perfect hair". It is incredible feeling and it is all thanks to Matt and his hair master wizardry. The salon atmosphere is comfortable, warm, and there is refreshments readily offered. He deserves more than a five star!

So happy Rikki Hansen joined the Black Dahlia team! She has an incredible eye to detail and knows how to keep my hair stylish/professional in between cuts. As a bonus, she is super fun to talk to! If you value looking good without trying too hard-- Rikki is the answer! - Eddie M.

I couldn't be happier with the job Rikki Hansen did on my hair! She has an incredible eye to detail and is truly an artist. I went from being pretty blonde to being brunette. I wanted to keep a little bit of the blonde in an hombre fashion- Rikki handled it marvelously and made it look natural. I am new to town and was skeptical of finding a hair stylist, but I honestly couldn't be more satisfied. If you're looking for an awesome stylist, Rikki is your answer.

Matt is the best. I've never had more fun getting my hair done! Not only do I have the best cut and color I've ever had, I always walk away from his chair feeling like a million bucks. Matt's passion shines through in all he does. I am always confident to try new things and experiment with my hair knowing he's well versed in the latest trends and best techniques.
