In 1998, Bradley Gold walked away from corporate life and entered the world of coffee shops. Since then, Black Dog Coffee has been providing breakfasts, sandwiches and of course, great coffee to the L.A community.

Why would anyone in their right mind, spend their hard earned cash to open up a coffee-sandwich shop, when there's just so much competition from the Starbucks and Coffee beans of the world? Because THEY DO IT BETTER! BETTER tasting coffee than the aforementioned, and hot-great tasting food.....made to order, quick. Breakfast and lunch....open till 6:pm. Yes.....internet too. It's my new favorite place because of the vegan and Atkins diet selections on the menu. It's so hard to lose weight and stick to a diet in this day and age. Bad food is cheap, good food is cost prohibitive, but not here. For that I say, "Thanks for your support, and my doctor thanks you." I love it.

Staff is friendly and prompt. If you're in the mode for a decent cup of coffee and want to try something from a non franchised location drop in for a Cafe Cubano.

Hands down the best tuna melt I have ever had. And the cafe cubano is a must have.When its nice out, one of my favorite things to do is take a walk down to Black Dog for a smoothie and brunch. It's a great local haunt because the lines are never long, the service is typically quick as a bunny and I've never had a hard time finding a place to sit and enjoy my meal.
