I preface this by saying that while I'm not a foodie, I am a BBQ snob. My wife and I gave Black Hog a try on a recent visit to Frederick. The fact that it has its own parking lot on a busy downtown street where parking can be tricky made it an easy place to try. The food was delicious. We ordered combination platters so that we could try a lot of things. The meat, sauces and sides were all big time yummy. Black Hog was also a great value for the money, which is always a plus. The service, despite the place being packed, was outstanding. We will absolutely return on a regular basis.

Best ribs I've ever had. And the brisket - better than bacon! Black Hog is well worth going out of your way for. The staff is super friendly as well. Their sauces are good but you won't need them - the food is amazing as is! We arrived just after opening which was perfect because it wasn't too crowded and our food came out fast and hot.

Awesome local barbecue chain. Good service, great food, and remarkably fast too. Delicious table service barbecue that's almost as fast as a day food joint. Macaroni and cheese is as good as you'll find anywhere. The sweet potatoes were just as good until they recently took them off the menu. Would have been five stars if the sweet potatoes were still available.

Outstanding food, at least the Eastern NC style Pulled Pork BBQ that my wife and I both ordered. Authentic Eastern NC taste. Yet,  they also do all of the major styles of BBQ (KC, Memphis, etc. ) in Pork and Beef. Service was excellent; friendly and attentive. The peanut butter pie and cheesecake were tasty but the star of this show is the bbq. A laid back, local “joint” feel to the ambiance. Tables and chairs in the front with a small bar in the back. Great experience!

Fantastic ribs and double smoked brisket. These were the best dry style smoked ribs I have ever had, didn't really need any sauce (thought the Kansas City one was delicious). The service was very friendly, altogether a very positive experience. It got really crowded at lunchtime so you might consider getting there a little ahead of the crowd.
