I really liked Blackbeard' s lodge. Just spent 2 weeks there.   Originally built in 1936, love the old floors.  The whole inn had a happy, positive vibe for myself everytime I walked in the lobby.   Very nice desk staff and maid staff. Pets allowed.

How could you not love this hotel? It has so much character! Room was very clean and comfortable. Front desk was super nice and helpful. Extremely reasonably priced. We also rented a golf cart here. It was so convenient to be able to just charge it there then drive it around town.

Wonderful hospitality even amidst the getting back on track after Hurricane Matthew and just days before the mad rush of Memorial Day weekend. We fell in love with just one more aspect of Ocracoke Island. The charming love of everything original being repaired, restored and continually used to keep this place as authentic as possible has likewise captured my heart. Being widowed, old-school, and a self employed country girl I was raised to cherish what I have been given and clearly Blackbeard's Lodge does that. I hope to be back again. No matter how it takes us to save for it on our tight budget it is worth every effort and every cent!! We love you Blackbeard's Lodge & staff.

We had a great time at this motel. Nothing fancy but quiet. All rooms were designed differently which made it a net place to stay.

I wish I could recommend this place but I cannot. The only good thing about it was the company we were with. We made the best of the situation. We arrived to a leak in the ceiling which was dripping on one of the sofas, an unfinished remodel, exposed recepticals which were hanging out of the wall, an extention cord used to complete a circuit, no tub in the master, the pool being repaired then filled with brown water and a/c units only controlled by the owners unless you pay $200 for the remote. We stayed at 75 degrees the entire week. None of our towels or swim suits dried due to the humidity inside the apartment. We notified the owner the first day and felt ignored. 
The island is a fantastic place but please don't waste your money at Blackbeard's Lodge!
