After the 2017 eclipse everyone had spent a couple hours driving 0 to 10 mph. Google routed people down almost every street. Intersections were a mess and no traffic control from police. We got to a spot where the two lane road opened an extra lane before the I-15 business loop. People speed up a bit. Admittedly a bit over the posted limit. Sure enough this is where three of the four police cars where, running a speed trap. Probably the only place I visited in Idaho during the eclipse where I saw this. Recommend avoiding Blackfoot.

Drove through Blackfoot Idaho today on our way back to Utah. We about got into a car accident  right before exit 89 because there was a bunch of chickens in the road (some already dead). People were trying to avoid the chickens (including myself) and almost causing accidents (braking, swerving, slowing down abruptly etc...). I immediately called the Blackfoot police dept. a lady answered the phone and when I told her about the incident she said they knew and they were told by admin to not go over there anymore. I told the lady they should rethink that because of how people are almost wrecking because of this and she instantly got rude and interrupted me saying there is nothing they can do. They could have done something. I just wanted to make sure this was documented in case someone did wreck or was hurt because of Blackfoot PD's negligence on trying to prevent car accidents. Shame on you!
