Mission

We strive to be a haven for nature in an urban environment.

To create a personal experience with nature, we:
• Engage and motivate people to experience native habitats in an urban environment
• Protect and preserve native habitats and their associated heritage
• Provide a living nature lab for education and research, and
• Advocate for the preservation and conservation of nature in urban communities

Seems like it may be in the middle of being renovated. Some lovely, professional leaflets about the place. Very run down/neglected and parts of the trails end due to fallen/broken bridges or other reasons. We couldn’t see any evidence of recent beavers. We saw deer, blue heron and snapping turtles. Would love to see the place when it has been renovated

Short serene trail amidst the bustling city. Perfect to be visited with kids. Pet friendly.

Disappointing as we kept running out of trail. Signs when reaching streets and just where to pick up the trail were pretty much non-existent. It could have been a nice walk with signage but we gave up and left.

Very nice place. Looked around a very little. I wish we had had more time. Maybe next time. 

A number of children there with parents - everybody seemed to be having great time.

When you're at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, it is hard to believe you are as close to Atlanta as you are. Beautiful place!  At least when we were there parking was plentiful, free and easy. Different from Atlanta!

Highly recommended!
