Story

When we think of authentic Chinese Comfort Food Restaurant, we think of the dumplings and noodle dishes Mom and Dad made for us when we were kids. So, when we set out to open our own restaurants, we wanted to share our family’s traditions with the energy of the community we were cooking for. Infusing our time-honored dishes with a twist, our menu takes a fresh, modern approach to Chinese comfort food. We invite our guests to explore a world of flavors at their fingertips and savor the comfort in every bite.

Tried to eat here on a Monday evening. Had never been here before, but it got good reviews so my husband and I wanted to try it.  Walked in at 8:35 and was alerted by the host that they had decided to close early and were closing in 10-15 minutes. In other words, "We're not serving you." I realize we were fairly close to the closing time listed (9 p.m.), but really? We turned around and walked out. I rarely leave a bad review, but I've also never been treated like that at a restaurant. I'll never go back.

When I lived back East my go to take out food was wonton soup... Being new to Kansas City I had to find the perfect place to fuel my love of this food. Once I came to the Blue Koi I knew my search was over!!! Absolutely amazing home made wontons & a broth that you could drink on it’s own. Some of the other amazing things I’ve tried include the seafood congee with shrimp rolls and the pot roast - both absolutely amazing. Above and beyond the food the service at the Blue Koi was exceptional, especially the manager on duty!

Great food that is pretty close to what you would get in China. We had the spicy chili wontons and the Shanghai noodle soup, plus a pot of their delicious Longjing tea. Everything was extremely tasty. I would definitely go back if I lived in Kansas City and will be sure to stop in next time I come through town.

Traveled almost 1200 miles to enjoy our anniversary dinner here after seeing it featured on diners, drive-ins and dives. Ok it helped that it's on the way to our folks. The food was delicious, the crowd lively and service was superior. Loved the entire experience and so will you.
