Story

There were all sorts of reasons we were excited to open our KC location. The city’s culture – definitely its jazz legacy – was a big draw, and we spent a couple of years scouting the perfect spot because we wanted to do right by your city. The artistic and counterculture spirit of Westport kept calling us, so when the ideal space became available, we jumped all over it.

We opened early 2017 in a three-level space at Westport Road and Broadway with 100 taps of craft beer – at least 30 of which will always pour brews from Kansas and Missouri. Our 12th restaurant features (if you don’t mind our saying so) one of Kansas City’s best rooftop spaces, featuring wicker furniture, atmospheric lighting and an unmatched view of the neighborhood.

That’s not all that makes HopCat KC unique – our secret downstairs bar, TikiCat, was recently named the world’s best tiki bar by Critiki.com. So, it’s not much a secret anymore. Neither are the other things that make HopCat a favorite wherever we open: our focus on sustainability, our scratch-made comfort food and, of course, our beer selection.
