We just ate at The Blue Marlin and let me tell you, while the food was good, the service was excellent. Our server Evan was such a charming and hilarious young man. He took absolutely perfect care of my family all while making us laugh. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for the great experience.

I’m giving Blue Marlin 3 stars because it’s usuallt great. Today when our party went in for lunch. It was not so great. Which is unusual for BM. It’s my favorite place to eat. We drove 2 hours to meet our daughter for lunch. My chicken pasta was not good. The pasta tasted like it had been over cooked and resembled a glue texture. Maybe sticky? Regardless it was over cooked and had been sitting in a dish for an extended period of time. My daughter had to send her she crab soup back, my husbands oysters were not very good either. I didn’t say anything to the waiter about my dish and neither did my husband because we wanted our lunch to be perfect for her. Considering she too drive 2 hours to meet us at BM. I sure hope they improve whatever was going on in the kitchen today. Maybe a new cook?

I am a native Charlestonian, we claim ownership of low country shrimp and grits; however I relinquish my rites to Blue Marlin! That is the best shrimp and grits EVER!! The grits are incredibly flavorful and smooth, while the shrimp were sweet and tender. This is the only restaurant in Columbia to have a good seafood meal.

I came here from Michigan while visiting for my brother's graduation at Fort Jackson, and this was by far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Our server Ashley was more than welcoming and made us feel right at home. She went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. Everything my family ordered was fresh and beyond delicious, and the lunch portion was more than generous. My family will definitely be visiting Blue Marlin again...we may even come back to South Carolina just to make a stop again at this resturant!

The Blue Marlin has the best catfish I've ever had in my life! The salt and pepper catfish was so fresh and good.  It was fried perfect. I could  hold it up right and it would wiggle but not too much!  It wasn't a brick like I usually find in restaurants.  Ardy, the waiter, was great.  He was on the other if the service and well my above and beyond to ensure our meals were correct.  This place called was great!
