Story

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Blue Swallow Motel is a treasure on Route 66. Established in 1939, the motel is a typical motor court of the era, built with attached garages next to each room. We feature a variety of sleeping configurations, including single queen beds, two double beds, a "Family Suite" two room suite with beds for up to five people, and a two-room luxury suite named after long-time owner Lillian Redman.

All the rooms are done so cool with their vintage and retro furniture. The owners couldn't be nicer. We sat around and made s'mores by the  campfire with some of the other people staying at the hotel.
 Wished I could have moved in and stayed a month. Not much else in that area but definitely worth the drive just stay here.

We were not overnight guess however we were Route 66 fans and we talked to the owners about the history of the motel and they were very kind and patient with us. They signed autographs and gave us a stamp for a Route 66 book. The motel is a very cool place and I would recommend that people try it out.

I've traveled the entire length of Route 66 by motorcycle and this was my favorite place to stay. You must stay here! I met the owners and they are very nice and accommodating to travelers. I see you’re on a bike, I have rags if you want to clean it off. If you want to bring booze back to your room, I can get you glasses. If you need something in the middle of the night, come knock on our door or here’s our cell phones. There’s music playing in background in the evening. A unique experience that shouldn't be missed!

Our family of 4 stayed here in June 2017 on a Rt 66 / Southwest / Grand Canyon tour.  Wow.  I read the reviews and read the stories elsewhere.  This place did not disappoint.  I enjoyed several talks with Kevin, the owner.  Wonderful story.  The neon lighting was an event in itself.  Totally booked, all guests sat outside enjoying the lights and atmosphere, which 100% changes at dusk....Wow!   You literally step back in time in the rooms...complete with antique bedding, spreads, and a working 1939 dial phone.  I took an early morning walk on Rt. 66 the next morning. and took more great photos.  Made me want to buy one of the other motels and never leave. We will be back.
