We unfortunately have had a very sick rescue dog who has had to go to blue pearl for various issues (diabetes, bladder cancer, complications from eye surgery) and we've felt that he's always received the best care from very compassionate doctors and staff there. They've always patiently explained his diagnosis and discussed our options with us. Plus, he's always walked in excitedly for his follow-up visits which indicates to me that he's had a pleasant experience there too.

This place is HORRIBLE and has no compassion for animals or people...my mother's dog was hit by a car and because she did not have all of the money up front they only gave her the option of euthanasia. Come to find out there is care credit which would have been helpful. This is an elderly woman who suffers from anxiety and that dog made her very content. They'd rather kill an animal than to help someone save their loved one. Even humans are not treated this way at hospitals. I called and spoke with the supervisor who conveniently never got back to me about why his staff was so negligent. 1 star not even I would give no stars. Someone could have mentioned the other options available but chose to withhold information. You people suck and should be ashamed of yourselves. Oh and they also wanted her to take a hurt, dying animal somewhere else while her first stop was them! Next stop BBB!

Very frustrating experience. I would never go back. Arriving with a large injured dog being carried and no one assist or brings a cart. Front office staff who we're fired from McDonald's. Billing issues where they tried to double bill $3000, long waits to get anything done, incompetent vet tech who didn't understand how to board my dog, misdiagnosed bronchitis from a resident. Incorrect Rx instructions. Complete Lack of follow up from doctor. Lost cytology test results. And over $4000 bill for a bacterial infection.

Blue Pearl came into our lives by referral. Our vet at Westside Veterinary Center, Dr. Melanie Friedman (who is phenomenal – please read our comment on their site if you’re looking for a veterinarian in the city) had sent us there for an ultrasound after the initial discovery of a tumor in the abdomen of our 13-yea-old Puggle. The tumor turned out to be hemangiosarcoma (cancer of the blood vessels) which had returned following a previous splenectomy 6 months earlier. This ultrasound produced a troubling reality, that this cancer had produced not only an abdominal tumor but also others that had metastasized to the liver and potentially elsewhere. Devastating news that left us with a world of questions around how to attack this problem and save our boy. That’s when we met Dr. Marc Greenberg, a surgeon at this location. As we had been successful in the past with an extraction of the tumor, we had hoped that this time around would be the same. However, due to the cancer’s spread, this would be impossible. Dr. Greenberg educated us delicately but directly about the severity of this cancer and its complexity with respect to how it had spread. He sat with us and walked through what it all meant and ultimately advised us that the best thing we could do for our pup was to make him as comfortable as possible. He related to us with stories of his own personal experience – his dog had gone through this in the past. He was a guiding light in a moment of pure darkness. I can’t comment on his surgical skill – he did not perform surgery on our boy - but he did guide us toward what I know to be 100% the right decision. With respect to the theme of many of these comments regarding cost of Blue Pearl, yes they are pricey but so is healthcare in general. The ultrasound and consultation wasn’t pennies, but I would have paid 5 times as much to sleep better at night. This is a business like any other, however the professional doctors that provide the service are exactly that – purely professional and operate with the best intent and quality of life in mind. It’s easy to be critical in a vacuum. But the truth is, in retrospect now that our boy has passed on, Dr. Greenberg helped us give Ryley a better life with the time he had left.

Marc Greenberg is 5 stars the staff as well However if you can’t pay upfront the whole fee they will let your cat or dog die. 4 years ago my cat swallowed a piece of rafia. and my debit card could only take half the price . Time was of the essence they refuse to start the procedure until they were paid In the middle of the night I scrambled to call many friends til one pick up to our His card Now my cat was again there and The doctor who did his endiscopy vdictor naminh refused to see my cat for a follow up three times even though he kept vomiting. All she could say is gobto your vet thank you She only said he has worms and parasite tajevthus medicinecsnd gobto your vet! No mention of what type of worms etc... Doctor Gillian and Nikki were also fabulous Docteur Oacifico also 5 stars she did see Shanti and said to definetly come back to see doctor manning My cat is very week vomiting non stop . I am now taking him for a second opinion and praying to God Doctor manning ineficacity and will not have hurt him So far we are over $8000 dollars and I still have no clear answer to the biopsies . It’s at best gross negligence ! I would also warn you that if you go back after a procedure unless the doctor agrees they will charge you another emergency fee in addition to the visit This place is a money machine
