Great gym filled with caring members and staff. Things can always be improved anywhere, and thats something people should keep in mind when they are rating places. Almost every experience with Bodymax has been a perfect one.

Worst Gym I've ever been too (Merriville Indiana). The only benefits are they have child care but I've never used it so I don't know if that's really a benefit. Beware when signing up because they will try really really hard to get you to sign a contract that is 2 yrs long. The equipment is old and the atmosphere is depressing as the machines are teal color and look like Richard Simmons will jump out of no where with those little shorts on. It really just has an old feeling as most of the members appear to be elderly so if your looking for more up to date gym drive right past them. (nothing against the elderly I'm just giving a view of what I've seen since joining in January 2017) Its not worth the money which is about 70 bucks a month for my family of 3 and that's without workout classes (equipment only). oh and it has a sauna. All of the equipment is upstairs but they don't have an elevator so after working out be careful going down the stairs if you've done leg exercises I've almost fell face first due to noodle legs. Also, they give you a hard time to cancel a membership even a month to month, you have to give a 30 day notice to cancel you membership and if you owe the last month or if its not exactly a 30 day notice you can't cancel until the final payment is made therefore they will continue to charge you even though you want them to cancel for future payments.

One of the best gyms I've ever been to. I live in Columbus and travel a lot for work and am in Merrillville often. I've checked out most of the gyms in the immediate area and this one, hands down, is my favorite. The variety of equipment is amazing. They have a full line of nautilus equipment, a huge free weight area, and a great variety of cardio equipment. The place is huge,it never feels crowded, and the staff is helpful. They have extremely reasonable membership rates and offer a tremendous value for what you get. If I lived closer, it would be my full-time gym.

Pros: The membership prices are good. I like the nautilus weight machines and some of the cardio machines. Sauna is nice when it's cold outside. There is more than one bathroom stall. Glad there is a locker room that is big (I've been to some clubs that have no locker rooms or very small ones). Hairdryers come in handy so I don't have to bring my own. Cons: The place needs a good painting and cleaning. Also, some of the lockers are broke and can't be used. The club closes too early on Saturday and Sunday, which is 5:00 p.m. They close extremely early on holidays, so I can never get in a workout on a holiday. The place gets too hot in the summer. Parking lot floods sometimes during a heavy rain. Club gets too busy early mornings and in the evening.

Best gym around. The free weight room alone is bigger than most gyms around. Mix of old school pumping iron feeling with the new functional fitness mentality. Both types will definitely fit here. Also, in addition to having a lot more equipment than most gyms around it is also more affordable than most gyms around.
