Long over due review! Soooo I’m Italian and VERY picky about Italian restaurants but we we finally found a winner!! Yes we drive from Baton Rouge but it’s absolutely worth it. Our first visit was in October for our anniversary dinner. We had the place to ourselves basically. We had such a sweet waitress who helped me with the menu I’m recovering from eye surgery She was very attentive and we never needed to ask for anything. Our last visit was last month and I was honestly impressed that the consistency of food and serve are STILL excellent. You can taste how fresh the ingredients, food and sauces are. You WILL have PLENTY of leftovers to dream about until the next day. The drinks are stiff without the stiff price too. We met Giavanna the owners daughter who was very helpful with my menu choice… Do yourself a favor and order the Carmella named after her sister and order dessert even if it’s to go. As a home baker I can tell you I rarely order dessert because it’s something generic and premade. Here the cake layers are light & fluffy, fillings and frostings aren’t too sweet. I cannot wait to return!! -Pic 1 & 2 Soft shell crab with a shrimp, mushroom, artichokes and lemon butter cream sauce. Side on angel hair with EVOO, Herbs, and garlic -Pic 3 The wedding cake -Pic 4 CHICKEN CARMELLA PANEED CHICKEN CUTLETS WITH A SHRIMP & MUSHROOM LEMON BUTTER SAUCE AND LB OF PASTA ON THE SIDE -Pic 5 FRESH BREAD & BUTTER CHICKEN PARMIGIANA AND COCKTAIL -Pic 6 MOVE OVER REGULAR KING CAKE… DOBERGE IS WHERE ITS AT LIGHT CINNAMON CAKE FILLED WITH A SLIGHTLY SWEET MARSCAPONE FILLING AND ALMOND POURED FONDANT ICING
Very attentive and professional waiter. Good selection of wines by the glass. Wish they had a Chianti Classico by the glass. The cabernet was an acceptable alternative! Salad was good, needs a bit more wine vinegar. Meatballs were hand formed, large with a wonderful seasoning. The veal Parmigiano was amazing! Asked for extra sauce when i ordered and was very happy with the amount. Red Sauce is very meaty but a bit sweet for me. Added red pepper flakes and dried parmesean to make it more to my liking. The Italian cake was a great ending to a wonderful meal.
Sinatra was crooning about how I was "My Kinda Girl" and I had an amazing meal and a glass of wine! Baked tortellini with a meatball. Perfetto!
Always a great relaxing experience here. Sit in the bar with the more relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're engaging with the bar tender or listening, it always becomes entertaining. The food is really good. The drinks a little better. The staff even better. You'll feed both your appetite and your soul and leave with a smile upon your face as proof.
Amazing Meal. I was driving from FL to TX and stopped in this cute town found this little hidden gem of Italian restaurant. From hostess to serving staff they were friendly so we felt like regulars, helpful in all questions from breakfast places to hotels to stay. Definitely a place to go. Their food was amazing.
Had a weird experience at Bosco’s Italian Cafe on Thursday evening. Food is good, however operating the restaurant is another thing. Restaurant opened at 4pm and my husband & I met there at 4:30 to eat one of their pizzas in the bar area, which is the only way you can eat their pizza. ‍. Upon entering restaurant we were informed that pizzas aren’t available until 5pm. No problem. We’d get a drink and wait for pizzas to be available. When we walked into bar area, and tried to sit at bar, all seats were reserved, but no one was in them. We tried to sit at an empty table and were told they were reserved for dining only, which is what we wanted anyway. Nope. We couldn’t sit there either. But we could sit at one small table reserved for cocktails only, even though we’d be ordering pizza in 20 minutes. We took this table, got a drink and now it was 5pm and ok to order pizza. ‍. By the time we left, not one other person came in to eat at their tables.
Outstanding establishment! Absolutely FIRST CLASS!! THE OWNERS ,THE STAFFESPECIALLY MRS. ROWEN! THE FOOD IS EXTREMELY GOOD! THE PRICES AND ATMOSPHERE ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! THANK YALL FOR SERVING MY FAMILY!!!Food: 5/5
We've been here several times with family, and they have accommodated us up to twenty people. The service is fantastic and the food is always delicious! The redfish I had this time was one of the best I've had.Food: 5/5
My very 1st visit and I got spoiled vegetables for my salad, and they served me lasagna when I ordered meatballs. When I finally got the attention from the waitress to fix the issue, everyone at the table was finished eating and I was ready to go home. I asked the waitress to take my food off of the ticket, she said she couldn't do it because i took a bite of the food. She ended up taking it off the ticket after asking someone else but i am very disappointed.
We had a great time, they had music in a back room I think it was called electric dining. We had wine and appetizers and the music was great, and the main course veal with spaghetti and cannoli was out of this world. We are planning our next visit and will be bringing friends
