Sat down for a delightful meal accompanied by a personable waiter. We were immediately greeted to bread that was just exquisite. Really set the mood for this candle lit night. After great portions of salad and bread we were served our entrees. They were kind enough to offer dessert and we respectfully declined due to the large portions of food. Seriously would go back, truly a 10/10 experience.
The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. Everything we ordered was excellent, from our meatball appetizer to the carrot cake and cheesecake. We'll definitely be returning!
I don't know who the new owners are. But this a completely different restaurant from the old nuvolari's. The wait staff is decent. But the food and the presentation is horrible. Olivegarden is better than this new version of nuvolari's by a mile. I whole hearyedly do not recommend eating here.
Having the best Friday night ever at our new favorite restaurant and our bartender Laura is serving us like Rockstars at the bar with gourmet food and great music in the background. it is a major positive vibe with great food. Vegetarian options: Amazing salad and wonderful sautéed vegetables and great pasta. PS save room for dessert which is of course vegetarian lol Parking: Ample parking and no problem in your spot close to the restaurant
Had dinner here on 8/27, for a party of 6. Food was good for the most part. Had the veal panne, which included lasagna. The lasagna had a slightly burnt crust. The menu changed a couple of months ago, we did hear that they got a new head chef. They dropped a few long standing items, that I liked. The portions got smaller. Service was excellent, clean establishment, and good cocktails. Not sure if I would return, it's just not the same old place.
I have eaten here a dozen times. Im not sure what has changed this past month or so. All I can say is keep it up! The food was amazing and the service was 5 stars! I would recommend this restaurant for every occasion. This staff and there service are not only professional, you can see they love doing what they do. So if your looking for just coffee and dessert, or a fancy date night. This is the spot! Thanks for the amazing all away around!
I am visiting from out of town for the holidays and found Nuvolari’s and decided to give it a try. The location is great in a super cute area, and the restaurant itself has great ambiance! It’s cozy and charming and gorgeous inside and outside. Everything was so good! I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the meatballs appetizer was, the salmon bruschetta was incredible, the pasta cooked perfectly, salad wedge and the dressing was great, and the oyster app was awesome. We were so full we didn’t want to order dessert but I heard the gelato was great and I’m glad we decided to order some. The next time we are in town for a visit I’ll definitely be coming back here as my new go-to restaurant.
Very delicious desserts. We enjoyed a laid back dinner. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet for such a large restaurant. I had the salmon and it was done well, though a tiny bit over done, so be sure to specify if you order. The fettuccine was also exceptional. We loved the Death by Chocolate, Bread pudding and Rum Cake.
My hubby and I went for dinner on a Monday and were delighted to see the place bustling! From start to finish, dinner and service was lovely! We started with the arancini and beef tips, both were very good. Since we were off to such a great start, I got a little adventurous and tried the octopus....so glad I did! It was tender and the bean hummus had bright citrus notes that really complimented the octopus. My husband ordered the paneed veal with lasagna and loved it! We were so stuffed we ended up with a ton of leftovers! I also have to mention the bread service...SO GOOD...the butter is made with garlic and olive oil and it will have you addicted! We will be back soon! So excited to have another great dining spot in Old Mandeville!
Honest opinion & critiques: First timer at Nuvolari's, reserved for our 33rd Anniversary dinner, Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some reviews as well as reading " under new mgmt" or new owner. We had ceaser salads, the pork chop & the NY steak as well as the bread pudding. First, the food is delicious & was cooked to perfection. The little potatoes that came with the steak was a tad heavy on the salt or sauce but that's just my pallet. The salads were not drowning in heavy dressing thank God, the pork chop almost tasted like the steak kinda strange but still very delicious. The bread pudding was excellent. Concerns...or critiques.... Obviously " tis the season" so it was very busy & loud atmosphere the wait staff did there best to keep up & they had alot of staff but fell a bit short imo, I guess this why we saw the Gm busting tables. He did make his way around tables to the patrons but sorry to say he comes off awkward in his demeanor as well non interested why we are here but just to here the food is good & to scury off to help bust a table. GM 101 not his wheel house. When we received the bread which it was fine not sure what the rave is about in someone's previous post but it ain't homemade yall we did not have a bread plate to eat on nor did my wife have a knife. Had to ask a staff turning over a new table for those items. I remembered reading a post about romantic atmosphere, I guess due to light being dim which we almost pulled out cells for light to read the menu but our candle was not lit, it's electric & unfortunately I broke the votive glass wear accidentally when placing fake candle back in glass when I couldn't get it to turn on, I warned our waiter about broken glass, when he finally brought some more water 15 min but he just left glass shards there. Although our waiter was young & nice enough, I'll say this.. No matter how busy it is or how many tables you have there is never a good excuse to bring dessert without the coffee ordered at same time. After eating the bread pudding excellent ready for the check! Then came the coffee. Overall Yes the food is great, price is what's expected for fine dining but the dis organization or disfunctionality of it all leaves room for more improvement. I'd also say folks in jeans or non button shirts that are coming should be told " proper attire " If I this was done buy a food critic I'm sure he/she would have a similar review to add. Recommend but with reservation.
