What started in 2009 as a simple “add-on” restaurant to host clients and friends at our winery, has morphed into Bottlest Winery, Bar and Bistro, a one-of-a-kind wine country destination that offers the most unique entertainment experience in the Santa Ynez Valley.

My husband and I have visited for happy hour twice. First, the Happy Hour menu with red letters on a black background was impossible to read. After a mixed drink both visits, I should have ordered a glass of wine. The BBQ ribs were top-notch.

The wine wall offers a fun, unique experience but the pricing is pretty high. The food is good, but nothing that's going to blow your mind. Take advantage of happy hour prices where a lot of the bar menu is half off. Service tends to take a looooong time.

Elegantly simple decor, delicious food and an incredible range of wines. The wine tour was informative and tasty. Wonderful facility where everyone was friendly, seemed to enjoy their jobs. Creating your own bottle of wine complete with custom label was a fun plus.

A large group of us were in town for a large event. One of our group found Bottlest on Yelp and we decided to make a reservation. We had 8 in our party and showed up about an hour later. They had a nice private side room set up for us and had two servers working our party so we never had to wait for a thing. The two servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and would provide detailed suggestions for any question you had. The food was magnificent. We had spent the better part of 12 days in the area and had sampled dozens of local restaurants. If you are in Solvang or Buellton you need to come here. The filet I had was cook to perfection (I had to change my order as they are taking the strip steak off the menu, which after having the filet is of great disappointment as I would have loved to try that). Everything about the meal was delicious. However, there is another angle to this story that you should take into account. The real star of the show at Bottlest is their wine selection. They have an entire wall of wine dispensers. You get a keycard and you and pour your own wine if you want. You can also order by the glass or by the bottle like our group did. Allison Crawford, Bottlest's Sommelier, is amazing. She is friendly and provided us with some absolutely fantastic wine selections. They were all interesting and very different from one another. The other good part was that the selections were priced very appropriately. Many restaurants will drastically overprice their wine.
