My first time with a B&B and I could not have selected a better inn.  The room was big. The bed so comfortable. Loved the sitting room and gas fireplace.  Big bathroom with heated towel rack.  Nice personal touches like real flowers. 
Loved the food!  Ordered the chili dinner and a bottle of wine for arrival evening.Breakfast was so big and delicious. Tea time/social time was fun. We took advantage of the games in the parlor and enjoyed a beautiful fire while watching the snow shower. Beautiful.
A great escape to disconnect from our phones and relax.

My partner and I love the Brampton Inn.   It is the favorite go-to place that we come to knowing we will feel at home.  This was our third visit.  We like trying different rooms and cabins.  For this visit we tried Sophie's Suite in the main house.  The season was just right to use the gas fireplace and the two room suite was warm and comfy.  It was nice to walk from the mezzanine landing down to the holiday decorated living room and roaring fire. We retreated to have a special, in-room served, chili dinner for two that left us full and satisfied to celebrate a birthday.  It was a wonderful get-away for otherwise routinely busy days of work. We always meet nice people too and, the owners are always welcoming, gracious and kind.  We will no doubt be back to experience another season and another cottage soon. We wish the inn great prosperity so that it will always be there to enjoy.

We stay at The Brampton at least twice a year, New Year's and July 4, and have done so for many years. The wonderful staff seem like family now, and it is always fun to identify the little changes (or larger ones) that we find with each visit— a sign of how devoted the Hanscoms are to making constant improvements to their guests' experience. At breakfast one morning, I asked a young couple on their first visit how they found the place. They said, "We read about it on-line, and at first we thought the reviews sounded too good to be true." Now, after one night at The Brampton, they were true believers. And that brings me to one of the distinctive delights of a stay at The Brampton: meeting the other guests, in the breakfast room or over afternoon tea. They are invariably interesting, friendly folk from all over the East Coast and sometimes from farther away. So that's another feather in The Brampton's cap, in addition to the wonderful rooms and cottages, the delicious food, the beautiful setting, and the outstanding service: Great places attract great guests!

This B&B house retains the flavor of its past history, yet has every modern comfort and convenience.  The bathroom was exceptionally well appointed and handy.  The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the 
breakfast was wonderful, with excellent choices for the day.  A special feature of this house  is the large, wraparound porch with comfortable upholstered wicker furniture for relaxing.  We stayed in a large front room in the main house, but I think on my next visit I would stay in one of the cottages because the steps were very long and steep (which, of course, was typical of a house like this).  But my handicap made this a challenge for me.  But the overall experience in this wonderful house was well worth the effort!  Hope to return again.

We had a wonderful time at the Brampton; it was our first time in Chestertown and the surrounding area and our hosts at the Brampton made it so welcoming. We had the pleasure of being greeted by Rita upon arrival; her personality and enthusiasm really got the weekend started off right. Lucas made us at home every morning during breakfast and at afternoon tea which was always filled with the best baked goods. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunrise Suite in the Garden Cottage and the walk around the property (highly recommended). 

We can't wait to come back and would recommend this to anyone in a second. Thank you so much!
