Nice small beaches and lots of camping area, Branched Oak Lake is lovely and not too far from Lincoln to be inconvenient. We love going out in the evenings once in a while during the summer months and just chilling on in the sand! The water isn't ALWAYS the cleanest, but it is a small lake in the middle of the country, not Lake Michigan by any means. Great for grilling out and chilling!

I feel a little unfair giving them four stars. It is a beautiful Park. I love the water. They've got vast areas to choose from, for parking. For all of that I would give 5 stars. However, I am only there on Labor Day weekend. We have had a family reunion there from Friday through Monday for several years. I hate it. It is crammed full. We're in the middle of a horseshoe type area. There is zero parking. There are people crammed in like sardines, kids walking in the road, people walking in the road, and it is not at all enjoyable. It would also be nice if they could add another bathroom in each area but that will probably never happen. I have been there early once, we got there on a Thursday. I can say that it was a completely different feel and an extremely enjoyable time. But stay away on a holiday weekend in the summer.

A group of friends & family all get together here several times a summer. We always have such a great time and the memories we've made are priceless. Great selection of primitive and electricity sites. Get there EARLY on holiday weekends or you probably won't get a write!

Magnificent Lake and State Park Destination ... Camping, Hiking, Fishing, swimming, Horseback Trails, boating facilities. Don't miss the Marina and the variety of supplies at the convenience store. There is even a Restaurant with limited serving schedule... A great place to spend the day or for an extended vacation

Great place to hang out. Can be a lot of boats coming up to shore though while swimming. Sundays are busy on the beach.
