This nice gem is located somewhat close to a lot of residential neighborhoods which is convenient for families. The lake is beautiful with a nice gravel path around the perimeter. The play struggles are great for kids. There is a ton of parking spaces stalked around the lake which makes it easy to park close to the area you want. Plenty of flora and fauna for everyone to enjoy. I recommend this place during the nicer weather months for a place to get out and get fresh air. 5/5 would lake again!

Love going running here. Bikes are allowed. Blading or boarding can be difficult because most of the trails are pea gravel, though there is an asphalt/ cement portion over by the pavilions and baseball fields. Very fun to ice skate on in the winter.

Holmes Lake is a great spot within the city to go for a walk/run, layout with your hammock, go for a picnic, play sand volleyball, fish, kayak... You can also take in some great sunsets over the water, go sledding on the dam in the winter, fly kites, the list goes on! Right across the street is also Rickman's Run dog park, which is a great place to let the dog off the leash to run.

Lots to do here! Great path around the (very dog-friendly) park, outdoor shelter, good-sized play area for kids, baseball field, ice fishing in the winter, kayaking, and more. Always clean, and we always have a great time!

Well lit at night. Lovely picnic areas big enough for large events. Clean facilities. There's even a public sailing group that meets during the summer!
