This office has contributed to the worst driver's license renewal experience of MY LIFE!! When I called, they were nice enough, but the information they gave me was inaccurate. My husband had a random traffic charge of $60 that was apparently never paid from 2012 after he already paid $180 of the $240 he owed. We NEVER received any information that we owed it until they put a suspension on his license along with an $80 surcharge. We call to get that taken care of through the Texas DPS, but we can't because THE DPS HOTLINE IS DOWN, go figure. We decided to pay it online, and figured there would be no issue. WRONG. Even though we got an email confirmation immediately after payment, Precinct 1 still has to make sure it is cleared through the state. I have been up to the DPS with my husband TWICE after a month of waiting for his license to be cleared AND IT STILL HASN'T BEEN. I called this office after the first time it happened, and they assured me there should be no problem. The second time I called, the office was closed. It was the icing on the cake. This GOVERNMENT office can't be reached for the last two weeks of the year.
