Brookfield Zoo

Great place to spend the day. Make sure you get there when they open. You will need all day to take it all in. Some of the exhibits are better than others but all in all this zoo is a beautiful place with lots of animals. Very well kept and run. I personally like the monkey house, the penguins and the wolves. If you visit a couple of times a year it's definitely with getting a membership.

The Baboons and Mountain Goats are gone. Loved watching them. Also loved going to the Children's Zoo to pet the goats. Now you have to pay an admission (certain membership levels may allow you to enter without paying, we have a senior membership and wee have to pay). The zoo is cleaned and the grounds are nice. Plenty of picnic tables.

I have been to many zoos, but Brookfield never disappoints. I would highly recommend their membership if you live nearby. There is a lot to see so the family has a lot of places to go. I used to have the membership when I lived in Chicago and would just go there to walk around with my daughter. The zoo is educational and relaxing. After leaving the zoo, your kids will be ready for a nap. There is a lot of fun to be had at the zoo!!!

We are members and absolutely love this zoo! There are so many family friendly activities like "Boo at the Zoo," Dinosaurs & Dragons, Wild Encounters and our toddler's favorite, Hamill Family Play Zoo. (Its not a trip to the Zoo without face painting) There is never enough time to do everything in one day. And I say that in the best way possible. I highly recommend getting a membership. It even includes free parking! And it's a great cause. They are pioneers in conservation from coral reefs to endangered species breeding programs. I can't say enough good things.

Brookfield Zoo is a Chicago area must visit site. There have been multiple improvements over the last couple of years, so this probably isn't the same zoo you remember from childhood. Buffalo now roam in a large area that celebrates Native American heritage. The polar bears now have a habitat with a large swimming pool that brings them mere inches from viewers. The Living Coast exhibit brings you almost close enough to touch the penguins. More improvements are slated for the coming years.
