Brooklyn Chop House
"Brooklyn Chop House Downtown NYC plays on the double meaning of the word "Chop". Chop Steak to Chop Sticks. Marrying what made him a well-known name in the industry with Philippe Chow. Stratis has taken the best of those two menus and married them with Steakhouse classics like dry-aged 30-45 day Prime Steaks including Porterhouse. For 2, NY Strip, and Bone-In Rib Eye. The game-changer and the uniqueness of the BCH menu came home with taking the staples of his father's Hilltop Diner such as the Pastrami, The Reuben, Philly Cheesesteak, Bacon Cheeseburger & the French Onion Soup and turning them into dumplings. This has driven the BCH concept viral on social media as the FIRST to reimagine the deli / diner sandwiches into dumplings."

So i went for Valentine's Day with my amazing better half. First time going there, so i didn't know what to expect. She wanted to go, so i said "cool let's do it." Granted, it was Valentine's Day, so i knew it was going to be a tough night, maybe overcrowding. We got there, and it was a really cool, laid-back place. Music wasn't too loud, tables weren't on top of each other. It just felt good in there. We had AMAZING service that night. Our waitress was very helpful. LISTEN, don't be fooled about the food. The portion sizes are massive. I definitely got my money's worth for the night. And that dessert chosen by the chef big ol heart-shaped cheesecake was again MASSIVE. I don't know how they expected us to put all that food down. We weren't rushed to get out of there. We had a chance to chill for the night and take it all in. I'm most definitely going back. I want to try some of their regular menu items. Go and have fun.
09.16.2023 This is our second time here. This place does not disappoint! We got the LSD which was a variety, lobster, steak, crab, various sides. It was the bomb! Please keep in mind you can’t come thinking it will be a cheap dinner…the money spent is worth it. My favorite is the duck then the lamb chops! You have to get the chicken fried rice. The atmosphere is beautiful as well!
I had a fabulous time at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I discovered it one day and we just fell in love . We both celebrated out birthday here , date night and Valentine’s Day . It’s really an amazing restaurant with great food and vibes . The staff is friendly and you truly feel welcomed .Food: 5/5
The atmosphere is nice but that’s about it. The food was not good at all. We ordered a lot of things… rock shrimp were ok, broccoli was slimy, crab fried rice was mushy, the salt&pepper fish was bland and came with chili peppers that choked me, the apple dessert was not seasoned, ohhh the pacman dumplings were very jello like, & my husband ordered an espresso martini that we had to send back because it was not made properly. The waiter was nice and we tipped her well for that… otherwise trash.
People are so nice here, relaxed, friendly and chilled. The place is beautifully decorated. We had some dumplings and tried the dry aged steak. I feel bad for giving only 2 stars to the food. It's an interesting concept combining Chinese take out food with high end steak. The place feels like an over-priced P F Chang with overpriced steak and great top shelf drinks. I would say this may be an after work party hang out place, not for dining experience. Parking: Parking is a pain here
My boyfriend brought me here to celebrate my birthday last December. The food was tasty. One of the drinks were overly sweet but the waitress was nice enough to get me a different one instead. We enjoyed our experience. The seating was really close so it didn't feel private enough for me but we made the night worth it. I got the The red velvet cake as a complimentary birthday dessert and it was so good. I'd definitely recommend. I'll add the dish and drink names soon.
Absolutely delicious!! We made reservations 2 months in advance and the wait time when we arrived was about 4/5 minutes not bad at all. They originally sat us at a small table for 2, which was kind of uncomfortable since other parties were very close to us. After the first order of drinks we were able to change our seats to a booth that had ample space for us. The steak and shrimp were delicious. The chicken satay had no flavor in my opinion, but the sauce it came with was good. Drinks were good and strong. We spent about $460 for the food pictured and 3 rounds of drinks for 2 people. Great time! Music at conversation level. Parking: Valet or street parking
3/1/2024 Went to a dinner party to celebrate a birthday at the Times Square location 3/1 and had an amazing time. Food, drinks, service 5 stars. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of honesty. A gift bag was left behind and when we called they informed us nobody found it. They told us they would call us back but we are still waiting for that. What is troubling is I find that hard to believe that a staff member didn’t take it is that, we left after 10pm and we were the only dinner party at that time upstairs. So whoever would be cleaning the table would have spotted it because it wasn’t a small tiny bag. Yes I recommend dining here but with caution if you leave your valuables behind and expect them back.
The food and service were both well done. The lamb chops were the stars. The steak was not as tender as I would have liked. The flavor was good. The texture was a bit tough and chewy, not worth the cost. The crab fried rice consisted of a whole soft shell crab cut up into fried rice. It was kitschy and unexpected, but I would have preferred really crab meat out of the shell incorporated into the rice. We had mixed drinks that did not have enough flavor to be remembered fondly. Overall, it was a great 1st time experience. One I would like to try again.
Was extremely disappointed by the treatment of the hostess at this restaurant. My family and I came to celebrate a birthday and were waiting for an additional guest to arrive a little later. Upon informing the hostess of this she immediately had a sour attitude and told me we wouldn’t be able to order until our entire party was present. I told her I disagreed with her assertion given the fact that the majority of the party was present and that shouldn’t prevent us from ordering until our last guest arrived. She insisted and handled the entire situation so poorly, demonstrating inept communication skills for someone who is supposed to greet guests and welcome them. I requested for the manager who then clarified we could order for our guest in advance, which is way more reasonable than the hostess’s implication that we wouldn’t be able to order at all. While we enjoyed our meal thereafter, I won’t be returning due to the disrespected from the so called hostess. She should be replaced if she doesn’t know how to communicate nor respect customers.
