This is an older city park with a creek, short hills, basketball, swimming pool, community center, playground, recycling truck, foot bridge, flood control basin, disk golf course, mature trees, picnic shelters, gated baseball diamonds, wooded patches and lawn, ample parking. Pokemon Go and Ingress can be played here. Brookside Parkway bordering the park to the south has been newly paved in 2017 and is smooth. Inside the park pavement is pockey and aged, motor traffic is generally light and slow. The motor route N/S through the park meanders widely and is not efficient for regular through traffic. One road is closed to motorized traffic and is an exciting incline for cyclists and pedestrians. There are picnic areas on both sides of the creek.

Brookside, well the "Brook" has signs posted all over the place warning people to stay out of the water due to the RAW SEWAGE. And there wasn't some spill recently or anything like that, those signs have been there for years. This is a beautiful park, too bad Indianapolis has no desire to clean it up or make it more desirable. It has a disc golf course which is used a lot, several basketball courts and some horseshoe pits. The disc golf course is pretty well maintained, as are the ball courts, but the horseshoe pits are terribly overrun and looks to be reclaimed by mother nature soon.

It's nice to look at but I guess there are issues with raw sewage in the area. It's a shame. This park has a lot of potential if the city didn't let it go to ruin. Would love to see it cleaned up.

It is pretty here, reminds me of a small eagle Creek, just don't touch the water, it's raw sewage. My dad told me it was a ditch, then I saw the signs about the raw sewage because I was trying to figure out why there was no fish, birds, Moss or anything living in the water, guess I found out why. There is a field that people play soccer in when it is dry outside, when it rains, it fills up with pretty smelly water. It can smell pretty bad in the whole place when it rains

always loved Brookside Park Had a friend that grew up across street and we would ride our bikes round as kids Good Fun! Obviously needs more money for the upkeep - Like the treasure of a fountain that was run into by a car and never fixed. unlike Garfield Park that would not remain like that. why is this? What they do with the beautiful building It should be incredible what goes on there... come on parks dept...Come on people
