Brownies 23 east is not a bad place to get a cheap drink during their happy hour, cheap alcohol is about the bars only major redeeming quality. The bands and DJ are good fun and one could have a nice night out with friends here. On the down side they do have very rude bartenders and non happy hour prices are on par with the much nicer more legitimate establishments. One item to note is brownies is not a restaurant, I am not sure why its listed as a restaurant as the only serve pizza during happy hour.

Bottom line, if you can deal with waiting for drinks and rude servers you will have a fun night out without spending much money. Definitely go during a happy hour, otherwise take your money elsewhere.

Thank god the old owner rebought the place and completely redesigned it. This place is packed full of beautiful girls, and lots of nice people particularly on Wednesday. I've been visiting the past few weeks and have been extremely happy. Highly recommended. $.50 beers on Wednesday! !! That is not a typing error!!!

Brownies 23 East is the best place to hang out and hear some great music.  The bartenders are very friendly and quick to wait on you.  I have found the staff to be very professional.  Happy Hour on Fridays offers great drink and food specials!  They are open Wednesday through Saturday and have live music most nights.  If you haven&#39;t been to Brownies lately, definitely stop by. You won't be dissappointed!

A few other people wrote reviews about this place being unsafe and I have to admit that I agree.  I have seen bouncers chase people out of here nearly pushing them down the stairs and bumping them into other patrons.  That's just shady if you ask me.  I go out to have a good time, not to wake up the next morning in a hospital.
