My daughter was hospitalized at Brunswick Hospital. I must say it was well worth the commute in comparison to her previous stay at the hospitals in the city. Dr.Khan and Dr.Salvo were extremely instrumental in helping my daughter overcome her deep depression & anxiety. This is has been by far the happiest I have seen my baby feel in a long time . A+ to this small private facility in Long Island. Without a doubt I recommend anyone seeking treatment for their teenagers to have them treated at this hospital .

Left that place even more depressed and suicidal than when I went in. Even the PA"s tell you that you have to fake it to make it out of that disgustingly filthy place. It's all about money there, they you as long as your insurance pays, stuff pills down your throat, turn you into a zombie and send you on your way.

My family Member was  a patient. And was very pleased with the attentive staff. The nurses were very  nice to her. It seem to bring up her disposition. I would recommend this facility for Just that reason

Hard to get a hold of social worker and people who are supposed to help you get better to leave the Hospital. One of the people I stayed with found a bug in her good. Another guy three threw up after eating the food. On two different occasions. The did not watch closely a young woman on suicide watch, as she almost drank cleaning liquid. Other patients stopped her. Some of the staff are great!!! Very caring and open and down to Earth. Others lie and don't listen.

On the other hand, I see how difficult it is/can be for the psychiatrists and social workers.

I went here myself and my opinion is that the hospital needs working water fountains. Better food because I myself threw up on several entrées. The staff could be more aware of patients needs. And also more hospitality needs to be shown to patients. I was allowed smoking breaks but was given Indian reservation cigarettes that gave me a migraine I believed were probably laced with a chemical that caused the reaction. The hospital also tried to overdose me on the medication I was taking for my condition after I informed them I already had taken equivalent  amount. I had to take a needle and the person who administrated the shot shoved the needle in my arm with full force. Then a lady took my blood and did the same exact thing. I was placed in the legacy unit. The unit is to small and has no fresh air break unless you are a smoker which I believe is unfare.
