Daniel, the owner of Buddha Bowls, heralds from Chicago and is on a mission to perfect the ultimate bread bowl.

For those living in Isla Vista, the emergence of Buddha Bowls may not come as a surprise. It was only a year ago when every Sunday afternoon good friends and good people battled their headaches and journeyed to the 68 block of DP to pack and share bowls of all shapes and sizes. Some may even remember the impulsive, pick-up acapella groups, the surf sessions, and the three-hour games of snappa played in nothing but wetsuits. Between die tosses, trips to the farmers market were made, produce was purchased, and bowls were packed. It was here, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, that the power of good food, good people, and good vibes was realized.

Finally, nearly two years later, Buddha Bowls is no longer just a dream. Of course, some things never change. We’re still supporting local farmers. We’re still committed to using only compostable goods and we’re still spreading the love through great food and great people. The only thing that’s changed is that now you won’t have to wait for Sunday to pack a bowl.
