Had a very negative experience with this rental. The woman who checked us out was great, friendly, helpful, etc. We told her that we would be returning the car before the counter was open and she instructed us to leave the keys in the drop box by the counter. My husband returned our car at 5:35 Am and left the keys in the drop box. At 8;15 I got a call saying they could not find the keys and I said I am sure my husband left them in the lock box, but he was in mid flight and I couldn't reach him until 9:00. I was told that they had to move the car and we would just have to pay for a new set of keys. The person who called gave me the number to the counter and told me to call when I talked to my husband. After talking to my husband I called the number I was given - no answer. I kept calling and each time no one answered the phone. I tried calling the main number and again could not reach a person. I missed having breakfast while I was frantically trying to reach someone at Budget. My husband spent at least 2 hours trying to reach the counter and talking to people in Budget customer service. They said they could not help us and we would just have to pay for the key. They were unable to reach anyone at the Albany counter and said they were busy there. I had several commitments so stopped calling. Finally, as I was leaving town, I decided to stop by the Budget counter to see if they had found the key - by now it was 2:30. The woman at the counter said she didn't know anything about a key. I asked her to find out. It took one phone call to her manager to find out that they found the key. What really infuriates us the most is that no one took the 1 minute it would take to call us and let us know they found the key. We wasted several hours trying to talk to someone and felt totally stressed out by the situation. This counter has some serious customer service problems. They had time to call and tell us they couldn't find the key, but couldn't take the time to call us back when they found it.

The only negative thing we had to say was whoever cleaned the windshield inside the car did a horrible job and we had to pull into the nearest gas station to clean it to see better. Otherwise, the rental process was smooth, easy and pretty quick. The price was also good!

Had a great experience with the lady at the counter and the staff in the garage. They just handed me the keys (they didn't bother giving me a inspection sheet for damage at all, which I thought was wierd). The Kia forte I got was in good shape and did a great job. Had the car for 4 days and turned in the car. The guy inspected it and gave me a receipt and all was good. I had a 5 star review brewing, but then epic fail on budget part when they mysteriously charged me $82.33. I called customer service who informed me that 11 gallons at about $9.00 a gallon was the reason. I asked why the guy checking in the car failed to notice 11 gallons missing from a 13 gallon tank and the representative and his boss basically told me to kick rocks. They said if I had the gas receipt then I could mail it to them and they would reverse the charge; who the hell gets gas receipts?? Anyway, Speedway's customer service is better than budget so they sent me a receipt via email. It takes 3-5 days to get the charge reversed. BUDGET your customer service sucks, and how in the world do you let your employees make a ridiculous charge to someone. Did someone need a little gas and say "this guy in the Kia forte looks like an easy pick"? And they didn't bother saying sorry for that charge that almost doubles your rental or anything. They just spun me up more. Just watch your receipts if you go with these guys and keep anything they give you.

The reservation process for Budget car rental was easy online and did not require pre-payment. At the airport counter the attendant was cheerful and helpful with local area knowledge. Turning in the car was easy. I would have given 5 stars, but there was a candy wrapper in the console and there were not protective floor mats for the driver nor passenger.

Jeffrey checked me in, was awesome, let me change rental to something smaller. No hassle, no issues, call was clean. Drop off easy. Go with budget
