this was a bizarre experience to say the least. I made a reservation online to pick up a one way rental. The estimated charges online were $45. when signing the paperwork at this location the estimated charges suddenly jumped to $80. When I asked why they explained they added the "fuel option" for $30 and are required to do so on one way rentals. I explained I did not want the option but Chris H (owner panhandle auto rental inc) insisted it was a policy. I said where is this policy written or disclosed. "it's not", he replied. I said its not a policy then. I noted my objection to the fuel option on the written contract. He pulled the contract out of my hand and tore it up. he then refused to issue a new contract until I answered his question. "do you think all policies are written" he asked. I refused to answer him and he stated he refused to rent me a car until I answered him. I said you are not an attorney and this is not a court room. I don't need to answer your question, just give me my paperwork so I can leave. I had 7 hours to complete a 6 hour drive to pick up my child that evening from his school 360 miles away. I didn't have time to play games with this person who was acting a little more than just a little bit nuts.... I finally used an expletive (I don't need to answer your F..ing question give me my paperwork so I can leave). After using an expletive I was refused service and Chris said he was calling the police... Psychotic!  I finally ended up switching my reservation through the call center for a pick up at the airport. I burned the extra hour I had to make the drive home going to the new location and retrieving the vehicle. Service at the airport was great! They did not force me to add the "fuel option" (apparently this is Chris's policy but not that of Budget) If you are looking to rent from budget in PCB save yourself the hassle and go directly to the airport location

Representatives were very helpful both over the phone and in person. They also gave us a great price with the two cars that we rented and were able to work out a deal. Very pleased

Do not rent a car from here.  They rented me a car with a bad tire on it, the tire went flat 10 miles down the road.  Then, they wouldn't provide roadside so I had to change it myself. Then they told me to drive 300 miles to Orlando on the donut to get a different rental car, and wouldn't provide me with one until the next day when I refused.  So I returned the car to the location and came back the next day, and they refused to adjust my rental rate  saying that it wasn't their fault that the tire was bad and I'd have to pay for the day I didn't use.  Then they put me in a lower class car than I originally paid for,  refused to adjust the rate.  Finally, 2 months later they sent me a  $300 bill for their tire repair.  I'd avoid budget and this location if at all possible.
