Hertz has always treated me with respect and honesty. Every car that I have rented from them has been clean and reliable. Their prices are agreeable. I will always use Hertz as my car rental company.

I had a rocky experience at first as I dealt with the corporate office of Hertz over the phone. They didn't have my vehicle available when I picked it up and gave me an unclean vehicle since "That's All They Had." I had to accept it in order to make the long drive and not miss my reservation. After a frustratingly long conversation with several representatives on the phone, one was able to let me know that the vehicle I requested was available at this Hertz location and I could stop by to exchange it. I had a wonderful experience getting my vehicle exchanged for another one that was more comfortable for me and my family's vacation. Paul was the service representative on duty and he made every effort to make us feel attended to and rectify this situation. His customer service was above and beyond and really turned my opinion around on Hertz after dealing with severe delays, wrong vehicles, and an hour long conversation getting transferred back and forth with the corporate office. I give this place a great rating and Paul really helped me smooth out the problems with our annual family vacation.

I reserved a car to travel for a medical procedure through hotwire. When I came to pick up the car I was informed that there were no cars to rent. I asked about having a reservation and the man said, "yeah, I have that here but I still don't have any cars for you." Apparently it's no one's job to call and inform customers so they can work something out. Also it's no one's job to make sure the car tags aren't expired.

The first time I tried using this Hertz, I made a reservation over a week in advance only to get a call the day before that they didn't have a car for me. No alternative solution offered, no compensation, just information that the reservation I made was worthless. The second time, my insurance made a reservation for me when my car was in the shop. Once again, I show up to be told they have no cars. Fortunately, I have one already from the airport location and they can just transfer the reservation. Except then they have to take it for an oil change before they can give it to me, and no one is available. Except then someone is available, but instead they are going to switch me out to a different car they he was just cleaning. Then they sell me on add-on insurance when my insurance is already covering that. Most disorganized business I have ever worked with - how do you run a car rental place and make reservations without cars?
