Rude! That about sums the entire staff at this pharmacy. There was a gentleman that was helpful over the phone and assisted me with a prescription that was “not in stock”. I was told it was ready. I arrived and had to wait about 45 minutes for it to be “mixed”. The lady at the cashier with glasses is extremely rude. I have went there 3 times so far and she looks down and speaks to you as if you do not have an idea of what you need. Due to her, I live in Bon Air but will be taking my business back to Walgreens!

I'm disgusted by the treatment I received and under no circumstances will I be returning. I was sent to this pharmacy by my physician as I was in need of medical supplies that I couldn't locate at the local chain pharmacies. I also had a prescription to be filled so I wanted to have that done while locating the necessary supplies. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, I was called over by the pharmacist to ask me why I was there getting a prescription filled. I thought that was an odd question but I advised him of the doctor referring me. He then proceeds to tell me he can't fill any prescriptions without speaking with my doctor who he was unable to get on the phone. He stated that I apparently have had multiple prescriptions filled in the last few months at 4 to 5 other pharmacies. Since when is it a crime to get prescriptions filled at different pharmacies? When I was recently in the hospital having my 7th surgery in the last year they had a pharmacy fill the prescriptions prescribed at discharge by their local pharmacy. (Apparently this is standard protocol to make it more convenient for patients following discharge). Prior to that surgery, I had to go to a specific pharmacy that my doctor sent the prescription to because no other pharmacy in the metro Richmond area had all 4 medicines needed to create that drug cocktail. Mind you most of the medications filled have been for nausea and vomiting due to my diagnosis. What I was getting filled today was a non narcotic pain medication due to a surgery 2 weeks ago. The pharmacist stated I can't fill it so you should go to one of your other pharmacies. I felt extremely discriminated against as if I was some crazy pain pill seeker. Seriously you can blatantly see all the tubing connected to me and see the constant pain I'm in and you turn me away in an accusatory fashion. This is unacceptable and I will make sure everyone knows this is how patients with dire medical issues are turned away without merit.

Looking for a old-fashioned hands on pharmacy experience; then look no further? I love the cute stuff they sell here and you find medications here that you won't find in CVS or Walmart. They're ole school in what they offer. A nurses' dream store.

On 11/20 my fiance` and aunt-in-law, went here to get a prescription filled for me in which was non-narcotic. Mind you, I fill this medicine at this location ONLY, for over a year! Prior to this day we had a few uncomfortable/discriminatory incidents that had occurred when entering this facility. We brushed it off and I continued to fill my medicine there because they always had what I needed to take. So on this particular day they went in to fill my medicine for me because I was home with my children and working. Upon my fiance`entering the facility, they were being watched for no apparent reason, mind you he's known by first name there (which means we're very acquainted and not strangers). He walked up to the pharmacy desk and handed the tech the prescription. He was told by the tech it would be 30-40 mins for it to be filled, therefore my fiance` and aunt set there patiently waiting. About 30-35 mins passed and the pharmacy techs were gathered around the pc, gossiping, and staring at my hardworking ..employed fiance` and my hardworking self employed aunt! FYI: I'm self employed as well and a homemaker! The way they were looking at him, he described as if he had never been in there before or like he's some type of pill popping hoodlum! They pulled him to the side, even though there were still other customers standing there and discussed why my prescription couldn't be filled. The "reason" the pharmacy tech gave was because of "Rules & Regulations " , he couldn't fill my current and authorized prescription. He also added, being that my ENT Dr prescribed me Hydrocodone on Aug 20, 2017 due to a Tonsillectomy I had, he couldn't fill my medicine. Mind you I had been there prior to the incident on 11/20/2017 and my fiance` went for me after my surgery on 08/20/2017, to fill my medicine. I spoke to the Pharmacy Tech over the phone, in which he kept repeating about rules and regulations ..he went on trying to say I had Hydrocodone filled a number of times within 3 months, in which offended me and insulted my character because it was far from the truth !!!! He actually had me thinking whether or not someone was impersonating me! He said his hands were tied and it couldn't be filled, but all in the same breath he stated that he could call to another pharmacy to see if they had my medicine so it can be filled. I was so dang on confused because it didn't make any sense to me! I told no that I could do myself, but I would be contacting my physician. So the following morning I contacted Family Practice Specialists (My PCP). I spoke with the receptionist and explained the matter at hand to her and she was stunned as well as to why I couldn't get it filled. That same day my Dr's nurse reached out to the Buford Road Pharmacy and spoke with the same tech. She told me this morning that he continued to repeat "Rules and Regulations " and never gave a definite answer as to why he wouldn't fill my prescribed medicine! She told me there after what I could do as far as what occurred and where I could go to fill my medicine. The point is, if there was some type of rules or regulations broken, my PCP, the one who writes and prescribes my medicine would've known first-hand.
