3 adults and 1 kid enjoyed about half the menu. We shared the deviled eggs, hoe cakes, corn bread and Mac and cheese. Eggs and cakes were SLAMMIN mac and cheese was heavy on the garlic but it worked well with the cheese. Entrees: buttermilk fried chicken, pepper pot shrimp, fried catfish and the kids plate (2 drum sticks with rice and a biscuit) It was all very good, prices were great, service was excellent and they were happy to let us order drinks and apps while we waited 30 minutes for the last member of our crew. I recommend the place to everyone looking for good elevated southern soul food.

What an absolutely fantastic and mouthwatering good place to eat this is. The food here is both filling and delightful. The lemonade fried chicken meat is tender while the skin is crunchy, flavorful and has a very subtle zangy taste. The fried chicken is also paired nicely with their great biscuits, and on a bed of rice. Besides the food the atmosphere here is homey and pleasant with a great friend chicken aroma. The decor reminds you of the inside of someones home with pictures of family and friends eating over a dinner table together. This place is very crowded though and groups get told they have to wait 90 minutes before getting seated a lot of the time. If your by yourself I would recommend going to the bar. The seating policy there is first come, first serve and they don't keep a list of people for that. Its good if you want to come by yourself.

I went to Butterfunk to celebrate a friend's birthday. The decor was rustic and tasteful. The food was delicious and attractively presented. The biscuits were very good in particular. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

The staff is warm and friendly, and the food was pretty good. I enjoyed their signature Butterfunk fried chicken, and the neckbone dumplings were pretty amazing. Great vibes, great food. No complaints!

Food was fantastic and service was great. Food took a while to get to our table but our server apologized and gave us a free glass of wine. Overall had a great evening. I would recommend to anyone who loves some good ole’ fashion soul food
