My husband and I stayed in The Retreat for 2 nights. The room was clean and well decorated, we enjoyed the special touches like fresh fruit, cookies, scones, yogurt, and granola. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch and watching the deer in the mornings. My only complaint is the bathroom. I thought, maybe I didn't look carefully enough at the pics on the website. I double checked and it doesn't show the bathroom. There is a one person shower. It's very small and even as a thin person, it was very difficult to shower in such a small space. I can't imagine if an overweight person wanted to stay there. They wouldn't be able to use the shower. For a couples getaway, it just makes sense to have a regular sized shower. That was my only complaint.

Very cozy cabins. It has a very open sitting area. Not too far from main still quiet too.

Wonderful place, peaceful and a great value. The cabin was cozy and we enjoyed either lounging around or seeing Fredericksburg. The morning breakfast was yummy AND healthy. Definitely going to return for future stays.

We stayed in the Windmill Cabin for a long weekend. The property is very pretty and well kept. The cabin was beautifully updated on the inside and very clean. The owners are responsive to requests and the overall value was great. We definitely preferred staying here to staying right off of Main Street. Very quiet and relaxing. Will come again.
