Calhoun County Public Library proudly serves the community of Calhoun County which includes Port Lavaca, Seadrift, Point Comfort, and Port O’Connor.

Mission

The primary mission of the Calhoun County Library System is to provide free library service for all citizens of Calhoun County.
Our general objectives are as follows:

A. To select, make available, and provide guidance in the use of expertly selected books, databases, media, newspapers, periodicals and other materials which will enlighten and enrich the lives of all citizens in the community.

B. To provide information and research services to meet the needs of the community.

C. To support and implement groups and agencies in the community in activities of a civic or cultural nature, which are stimulating and educational.

D. To initiate and sponsor activities, discussion groups, institutes, and programs encouraging continuing learning through use of books and other materials.

E. To encourage children, young adults, and adults to continually educate themselves through use of our library facilities.
