The waiting is terrible, the staff 50/50, and the cleanliness of the place is sometimes questionable. Not to mention the one time I had to be stuck half a dozen times to get blood drawn because they had a new person doing it. Saving grace? Not much. The only major hospital left in town. At least the cafeteria has pretty good food.

The care my friend got after being thrown from a truck was OK until they sent her home. She was in severe pain and they gave her no pain meds. The same thing happened after my husband got crushed by a truck. He had several doctors up until they found out he had no insurance. Couldn't walk, crawl, or anything all they did was kick him out the door with motrin.

The emergency department Since the merger is terrible. My wife recently went to the ER with chest pains and had to wait almost tow hours in the waiting room of the ER for going on two hours. Then after finally getting into a treatment she had to wait for 5 hours before she was told they wanted to keep her overnight. She was so upset with having to wait so long she told them she was going home. They made her sign a ama statement. Not too long after this my mother-in-law had to wait over 12 hours to get a room after being admitted. This hospital is terrible, the merger was the worst thing that could possibly have happened to the Parkersburg Area.
