My only regret is that it took me a year to find this place.  For a small town restaurant they pull out all the stops.  Great ambiance to match great food.  Started with a wonderful soup then a bountiful salad all before the boom boom shrimp arrived. I did miss having tomatoes in my salad, something all these little restaurants out here are omitting, but they more than made up for it with a variety of other veggies.  I can’t forget about the delightful garlic breadsticks that accompanied the meal.  These things put Olive Gardens sticks to shame.  Once the famed Chicken George arrived I was already full but I had to try their signature dish.  It was great.  The chicken was well prepared and appeared fresh.  The “secret sauce” wasn’t something I would want again myself but many people love it.  All in all, great find that we will be back to soon..... can’t wait to try the desserts!!!

Best place I've found in the area.  Amazing food, great service, and a friendly staff ensured I will be making a trip back to this place.  I ordered the fried Cod and it was delicious. The staff was aware I wasn't a local and that it was my first time there.  Knowing that, one of them insisted I try the Chicken George, then brought me 2 pieces for free!

Have been a loyal customer for fifty years! But lately things have changed. Things on the menu that we used to get are no longer on the menu... hot beef sandwiches, sweet potatoes, italian beef dip sandwiches,  vegetable beef soup! The chicken and the beef meals are still great... but the price is almost to much for people who are on a fixed income!

Best food we've had in a long time. We will be back. Prime rib was excellent. Chicken George is excellent can't believe all you get for the price. Can't go wrong with the deserts neither.

I'm originally from the Rock Falls area and moved to Wisconsin.  On my trips back to see family candlelight is a must stop for me and my family.   Their chicken George is some of the best deep fried chicken strips I have ever had.  Especially when you add Jan's sauce!!!
