Great premium pet food selection and classes are their specialties. Their staff are kind and knowledgeable. They have a cat that wanders through the store, greeting customers. His name is Le Bouche.

The best food/treat/toy selection in Lincoln. Whether your pet has special nutritional needs/allergies/limited ingredients/raw diet/kibble/freeze-dried/more treat choices than you can throw/pet gear-leashes-collars-harnasses/pet beds-you name it or they will order it for you and call you ready to pick up. Also Trevor is excellent @ teaching people to master their dogs (because all dogs WANT a master).

For a "trainer" that boasts 25 years of experience, this place is the absolute worst to take your dog. He follows the disproven "pack leader" mentality that you must punish your dog into submission and never allow yourself to show affection lest your dog try to "dominate" your household. He starts by improperly using a choke chain, then when that doesn't work he steps it up to an improperly placed prong collar. Both of these tools caused damage because I didn't know better but have since learned how to train my dog. If you want to buy equipment or food, Petco is cheaper. If you want to get your dog trained, hell contact me, at least I won't make your dog so aggressive that you have to put him down. If you want to know how to use choke and prong collars correctly, I'll gladly send you an email with both photos and the methodology behind how they work. Just hit me up on Google+

Dog training review: I adopted an 8-10 month old American bulldog mix who showed signs of leash reactivity the day that I adopted him. After about 3 weeks, I was finally able to get on the schedule to bring him in for training. The trainer was so booked, there were no times except for 3:00 on Tuesday (impossible to fit in your schedule if you're a single working person). Meanwhile, I was fretting that my dog's behavior was getting worse with time. When we finally did go in, my dog barked at the trainer, and so the trainer's very first words to me were: "THAT's turning into aggression." I calmly responded, "That's why I'm here." Obviously he is a dog trainer, not an animal behaviorist, but I trusted the trainer enough to be able to evaluate a case and determine whether he'd be able to handle it or not. During our 30 minute evaluation, the trainer asked me approx. 2 questions and just rambled on most of the time. He told me that to halt behavior like this, the dog needs to sleep on his own bed, shouldn't be on the furniture, should learn to wait for his food, etc, things that we were ALREADY doing, but the trainer didn't take the 3 seconds to ask me about it. He just assumed. He made fun of me for the way I told my dog "no," (I use a sound, not a word), and he flat out said during his ramble, "People ask me about methodology, but methodology isn't important. Training the dog is just training the dog." This is not what I expect when I am hiring a trainer who boasts 25 years of experience. Lesson learned. At the end of our dollar-per-minute evaluation, the trainer's advice was that when my dog barks (out of fear) at people, I should yank on his leash and say "No!" I tried this for approximately 1 walk and ended up with blisters on my hands and a dog who couldn't understand why I would shout at him whenever he was afraid of something. In short, this trainer did not seem receptive; he did not consider the individuality of me nor my dog. I left the place in tears, feeling like a failure. I have since then contacted an animal behaviorist, and we have had very good progress after only one session. With 25 years of experience, it would seem like this trainer would learn to be at least a little bit receptive to individual people or dogs, and would know when to take his own ego down a notch when he sees a case that he should not/cannot handle, and refer them to the proper specialist. I didn't just waste my money with him; I felt TERRIBLE when I left the session, and my dog suffered because I had attempted to follow the trainer's advice. Never again.
