Vice Principal is a bully. They faculty and staff all have children that attend the school, so when their children hurt yours, they ban together and back up the child (bully) up and each other. It’s sad, to have to worry about your child, when they are supposed to be safe. In the process of un enrolling my child from here.

The vice principal is is a terrible lady and a bully. The staff not only allows children to be bullied but partakes in bullying themselves.

If you're looking for a school that communicates with the parent about ANY concerns you may have, this is NOT the school to choose! I have had some concerns and contacted the school principal to set up a meeting. She set up a time which she said was good for her and then didn't show up. Had to meet with the assistant principal (which in past years have had other issues with poor communication) and nothing was resolved. No apologies from the principal as to why she never showed up to an important meeting with a parent that she set up. The teachers are all fresh out of college. As a parent you want your children in a safe school with individuals who want the best for them but to this school your children are just another number. They say safety is most important but push the children to walk within inches from a moving vehicle and encourage the children to jump in a car and take off before even being properly secured in a seat belt. It's sad but this school has gone down hill ever since they received a new principal and assistant principal.

I have two children currently attending this school now for 4 years. The teachers and assistant principal have all been fantastic over the years with communication. This school is a hidden gem in the Peoria Unified School District and our family appreciates it's small family style atmosphere. It's focus is creating academic leaders with a vision. The school website is easier than ever to navigate and parents are "in the know" at all times. I would highly recommend choosing this school if you are searching for a staff that truly cares about your child.

We've been a Canyon family for 5 years. Although, all of the teachers have been great, it seems like this year the teachers are the best! My 6th grade student LOVES going to school! Words like personal goals, personal best, personal growth are used and it has made a difference on how my 6th grader looks at herself. She's confident! She was also excited to learn how to properly take notes... no big deal for us.... but for her, it earned her a 100% on a test! Which was her personal best! The whole class and staff celebrated her achievement! The principal called me to share the awesome news! Canyon Elementary is a small school, but has a big heart! I'm proud to be a part of it!
