We frequently have small group gatherings here. The staff is very accommodating and our servers are generally great. The food is good with everyone having their favorite dish. There are daily specials, like $2.00 hamburgers (no fries). Hamburgers are handmade patties from fresh ground beef so they are consistently great! House salads are super small for the price, but good. I don't drink beer, but they seem to have a variety; nor do I do cocktails. Great location on the square but parking can be a challenge with people parking several blocks away, not fun in cold weather as tracking apps makes it look closer than in reality from available parking decks. If early before the crowd, there is limited shared parking by others in the building just across the way. Be careful of church parking spaces.

Capital Ale House boasts the largest variety of drafts I've seen at any bar. The quality of their food is exceptionally high, and very reasonably priced. The service is fast even during busier hours, and the staff is genuinely friendly. By far, my favorite watering hole in Harrisonburg. The atmosphere is always lively, yet never too loud. Great place to dine & drink, whether solo, on a date, or with a group.

Went in on recommendations and it did not disappoint. I had the brats and cheese plate, being a German Wisconsin girl, it met all my wants.. I would def recommend and go back. Plus our waitress was funny and helpful

Great atmosphere and very large with an upstairs bar and even pool tables. Downstairs is a beautiful and classy dining room and bar area for those interested in a more upscale environment.

Received extremely poor service twice at this location.  Both times I ate with guests and was embarrassed by the rudeness we all received by the waitress'.

Both times the waitress was training new staff so the passive agreesive behavior is taught continually. 

We will never return and hope others having similar experiences will do the same. Maybe in time this restaurant will get run out of our nice friendly town and make room for a company interested in providing good food and good service.
