First off, this isn't a deep-woods, solitary type of place to go where you won't see other folks. However, it's camping in the Madison area that allows easy access to the city as well as great bike/hike/walking trails and wonderful lakes. The bike/pedestrian trails connect to the series of trails into and out of Madison and nearby towns, with many, many miles of different ways to go and types of landscapes to see. I haven't skied there, but the trails look like they'd be great on cross-country skis with a lot of distance and options if you cross over into the 9-springs area as well. There are also picnic shelters, boat docks, and playgrounds.

This post is in regards only the disc golf course. Pros: Nice course that is well maintained and has good signage. Beautiful place to play with short but mostly long prairie grass and surrounded by farm and wet lands. Pretty good mix of short and long holes. Cons: With the long grass it can be pretty easy to lose a disc. But worst of all are the bugs. They are everywhere and are vicious!! That being said bring bug spray.

Nice dog park with a .75 mile gravel path, plus lots of unofficial paths and mowed or wild prairie grass areas. Limited shade in the summer, but they are building a shelter for 2018. Poop bags provided, but bring your own water.
