I went solo-camping here in October. I liked the trails and the office people were very nice. The lake is beautiful - I basically had it all to myself so that was nice! There is a little restaurant at the far edge of the campground. Just past that is a dam - beautiful view of the sunset.

It's a beautiful park. If you're camping in the tent section where you have to park and walk to your spot, it can be quite a walk to anything past the second site in, so I recommend either packing light, or bringing a cart or something to help you carry your supplies. My husband and I packed a lot of heavy things and were at the very last spot and we were dying by the end of unloading the car

Nice park, good trails, beach, lots of boating and kayaking, campsites look pretty private. I have been to 15-20 Wisconsin State Park and this seems like the most forgotten and neglected I have seen. Staff in the park office were friendly. They do not sell park patches (my son collects them from each state park we go to). There is one building of flush toilets and the rest are pit toilets that are very old. Also, the pit toilets at the beach were very very full. Sand at beach is full of clay or some kind of sediment. Makes it fun to build in the sand, but wash your suits after your visit. Lake is quiet, no houses on the lake that I could see. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best camp grounds I have been to. Close to a few small rural towns to get local produce to cook. Hiking, fishing, sites are very well maintained. Only small down side would be the vault toilets need to be cleaned up and it would be great if they had a ranger that walked around at night as a few sites did not maintain good camping noise courtesy late at night.
