This is a good place.  Parking is tight. Food is some of the best around.  They have awards for their clam chowder (New England style) and they are well deserved.  It is just excellent.  We sat at the bar and the bartender was personable, professional and welcoming.  NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: If you don't realize it, Pam is a treasure.You are extremely fortunate that she chooses to work for you. All the food we selected was outstanding.  In short, this place is worth expending considerable effort to get to and overcoming the parking situation.

Our bartender Pam was amazing. We came in on a busy night and sat at the bar. She had a great attitude even though the restaurant was slammed. I've been coming to captain Curtis since I was a little kid, and I'm always pleased. The drinks Pam made me were perfect, and she was a great bartender. Very attentive and quick on her feet. The food here is always great, corn fritters and clam chowder are a must if you've never been before. Avoid the wait for a table and sit at the bar if you're a small party!

Best clam chowder!  Tried the gator bites tonight.  We will definitely order those again!  Waitresses are always friendly and helpful. We've been going here for the last 6 years. 1st time we didn't have to wait in line!!

The clam chowder is the best in Florida. So are the escargot. It's very casual atmosphere is great in the restaurant. However, the ladies bathroom truly needs HGTV to stop by and refurbish it. Quite unpleasant...but you'll live. Won't want to, but will.

one of the best local haunts in Sarasota for great seafood and the best pork tenderloin sammich ever! comfy vibe. fun place to have a few drinks while waiting for take out, or after a few at crescent club!
