Reviews
Always made additional payments each month, then paid off after a year. The way they showed my payments took several supervisors to understand and be able to explain to me- they basically scammed me out of principal payments by applying the payments into the future...YEARS OUT into the future. THEN when I printed out a payoff letter and mailed the payoff check- they didn't apply it to my account. I had to send them PROOF that they got and cashed my check for them to apply the payment. IMBECILES!

Customer service is nice however I got transferred to the another department I was told for my address to be corrected properly however the women named Patty I spoke to was awful!! Plain Rude!!! Rude rude rude! She makes me not even ever wanna do business with Carmax ever and could careless if it’s repossessed (even though I’ve always been current) Very hateful women- whatever is going on into her life, I hope God will take the hatefulness out of her heart!

Absolutely terrible experience. Attempted to pay off my loan in full, in which I mail a check as there was no clear instructions that pay offs could be completed via the website. Check didn’t process for 3 weeks. Called Carmax to verify the status of the check, they stated they had not still not received it as of that day. They suggested I go ahead and pay in full online and explained how to go about that. They ENSURED me that if the check did show up, they would return it. The next day, I checked my bank account and Carmax and processed BOTH the check and online payment, doubling my initial $2,500 payment. Exactly what they ensured me would not happen. I called to demand they send the money back via an electronic payment or wire, and they said they couldn’t. They would have to mail a check. I asked that they overnight the check and call me back with tracking. Of course, never got a call back. The check never shipped and I never received an explanation why. Got another customer service agent on the phone, he said I should have had them electronically return the payment. I was flabbergasted. I stated this is what I initially wanted to happen! He then ensured me that he would process it. I again, asked for a return phone call once he recieved confirmation that it processed. And again, I never received a call back. I called that afternoon since I never was called back, and spoke to another service rep. He said that they were waiting on ME to fax over information that was NEVER communicated to me in the first place. They still didn’t process the payment, and now said it would have to be mailed again (???), but couldn’t until Monday. So, now I’m on day 3, and it won’t be until 7 days until I can get my money back, assuming it even ships this time! Absolutely ridiculous. For your sake, use ANYONE ELSE other than Carmax finance, unless you want them to take money out of your account and not return it!
