Every single time I go into this store the wait times in line are incredibly long.  I've been in a five person deep line with one register open and two or three other associates in plain sight doing little to nothing. Could one of them manage to hop onto a register and get things moving? No. One time I had a pair of shoes and another item and waited in line for what seemed like forever. Easily 10 minutes.  Once I got to the register, I was informed I could not pay there...I had to go to the shoe department.   How about, no, I just waited an unacceptable amount of time yet again in this store, you couldn't have said anything to me while I was in line? I end up leaving this place with elevated blood pressure every single time, but there are few options when it comes to department stores in town, so you just have to deal with it or drive to Rockford or the suburbs.

I made the mistake of asking a "manager" if she could take a dress off a mannequin. She told me to hold on and that she would find someone and then WALKED AWAY AND NEVER CAME BACK. We were right next to the mannequin...in the 10 minutes it probably took her to find someone "below" her she could have done it herself. I didn't bother to stick around and wait for someone to come and help me after that. This store is the next to go.

Received a coupon in the mail and thought I would use it to buy a watch for my wife.  I picked one out and checked the exclusions on the back of the coupon - my item was not excluded!  At the register, however, they had taped down a letter from corporate Carson's, apologizing that they had left off some exclusions, and, sure enough, "watches" (like, any watch) was excluded.  So, it's Christmas time, people are planning and shopping, and it's difficult to not see this incident as carefully planned to bring customers into the store and then see if they'll still buy the merchandise even after "discovering" that the coupon didn't apply. It also means that you can never trust a Carson's coupon to mean what it says. 
How about posting a notice at the jewelry department?  Or, how about honoring those coupons, or offering something else to the customer?  Sad.
