Story

Located in the heart of the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, this KOA will have you rollin' along the river in no time-whether you're cruising aboard the stern-wheeler Columbia Gorge, exploring waterfalls along the historic Columbia River Highway or hiking on Larch Mountain's trails at an elevation of 4,000 feet. Displays in the riverfront Marine Park explain the 19th-century locks that made the turbulent Columbia passable (and gave Cascade Locks its name). In nearby Hood River, the Mount Hood Railroad links the Columbia Gorge with the foothills of snowcapped Mount Hood. Camp among forested tent sites, full-hookup RV sites with 110-foot pull thrus, one- and two-room Camping Cabins and Cottages.

Beautiful place to stay. Had our travel trailer and used this place as our home base while exploring hood river and visiting my son

Nice campground around a lot of cool places to visit, the location is great. Front desk lady was very helpful and nice. Toilets/showers seemed pretty old, but works fine and not dirty, however showers are for short people, I had to squat to wash my hair and I'm not tall at all. Campground has a little shop, an outdated game room and a pool I haven't used. The train is definitely loud, but you'd ruin your own trip by getting upset about it. I think it has its charm. Overall definitely satisfied.

There's a reason the KOA app doesn't let you review this place. Came for two nights and only stayed for one. The train runs all day and night blaring the horn. If you can handle that then you'll probably be fine here. I realize it's not the fault of the owners but having a campsite right there doesn't allow for much sleep. Stayed in the tent sites and there is no good marker for where your site ends and the next begin, leading our neighbors to set up 2 feet from our tent. My husband said the men's room was not up to par; the womens was okay but there was chipping paint.

We did not stay here. We where scouting for a place for 2 nights. There are limited 50 amp sites. The sites also where not up to expectations. The trees, though pretty, would prevent any satellite service. It was cramped as well. I do not understand how KOA ALLOWS parks of this caliber to belong to them.

We love this KOA. We've stayed a few times and will always come back. The train is a fun sound to hear and we really love all the staff. The pool isn't huge but it is a fun way to cool off. The KOA is clean and we feel safe.
